  1. just a quick question on the 3000d what will it put out at 2 ohms at 13.5 volts.
  2. ok dumb question. how can i tell if a headunit can control an active front stage. and yes i planed on using 2 sax100.2
  3. h, i am thinking of running a 980bt for my headunit and i want to use it to do an active set up and i was reading the manuel and i think i understand how to do it but i want to make sure. this is how i think it is: i need to have channels 1 and 2 used for the tweeter with a highpass set to whereever then use channel 3 and 4 for the midrange with a lowpass set just below the highpass. and i want to use 2 sets of speakers so i can just run an rca from the amp to the other amp. and sorry but this is my first time doing active and i want to make sure. also on the amp. Sax100.2 would i set x over on it to full? or is there a way to bypass it.
  4. hi, i am going to be getting an sax100.2, sax100.4 and a saz3000d. and i am wondering if this is going to be enough electrical to support it. 1 powernaster D1200 up front, 2 powermaster d3100 in the back, a 190 amp alternator (biggest one for my car) 1/0 big 3, and i am going to be running a ground run to connect all the batteries together. also the sax100.2 will be at 2 ohm. two of the channels will be at 2 ohm and the other set will be at 4 ohm on the sax100.4 and the saz3000d will be at 2 ohm(reason for the saz3000d at 2 ohm and not an saz1500d is that i might get a new vechile(sp) in a year and then i want to go for just spl in the new vechile(sp(. so then i will already have 1 of the amps already.) do you think that will be enough electrical or should i add another d3100
  5. ok. i don't mean to keep bring this thread up. but i have 1 last question, if i set my gains right and every thing would having a sundown saz3000d be too much for 2 12" icons ( i may get the d2 version for efficiency purpose being a 2 ohm load instead of 1 ohm load.) the reason being is that i might get another vechile later down the road.
  6. hi, i am thinking about having woodlawn Cabinetry build my box for the 2 12" Icons and i am wondering if anyone has had any experice with them. i would build it my self my i have no tools and he only wants 205 dollers for it and thats with it carpeted and i wanted the baffle to be laminated black.
  7. you still are going to need to upgrade your bat. because i didn't upgrade me battery and i would 12.8 voltage drops with 1/0 big 3 . 200 amp alternator and a 4 year old ps battery that finaly died on 2 days ago. to bad i fired my subwoofer amp to see if it helps with voltage.
  8. feb is the lastest it should be. but i should have the rest of my system put together by then.
  9. don't mean to double post. but what if i got Rainbow Germanium W165 and used them as a midrange and then used the XXX tweeter and the XXX midbass a do a 3 way. and if i do that can i use a sax100.2 for the W165 and use the sax100.4 for the midbass and tweeter? and then use a pioneer 980bt as the crossover.
  10. hi, i currently have an alpine pdx 4 100 and today i was messing around with my crossover because i was using my head unit as it and my battery died this morning so i lost everything when i replaced with and ever since i messed with the crossovers it has been going into prottection mode after about 10 mins at full volume ( by full volume i mean 45 out of 62 becuase that is where i set my gains to.) now last time it did this it was hot outside ( 97o) and today it is 92 but the feel like temp is 97 so could that be the problem. i have it mounted on my backseat with them folded up.
  11. it is a mix between copper and aluminon(sp) and since the price increase in copper more aluminom(sp) has been added and less copper. yea but i bought that wire before they announced that they put more aluminom in.
  12. the only thing bad about knukonceptz is that should atleast offer a non aluminion wire, i did my big 3 in Kolossus Kable and then i recently redid it with one with more copper and when i went to recyling center they would only let me get half price for the copper price. for an amp kit go with either kicker or knukonceptz
  13. i know but i tried to sell them anf the highest amount was like 200 and the only person that offered to trade was a very used 12w7 and like 100 bucks. so i am kinda of stuck.
  14. if i feel that the midrange is not good enough i can always just add a midrange then just do a 3 way. right
  15. it makes it easyer when looking for an amp to power them.
  16. i forgot about the off switch on the xovers on the amp. how can i tell if a head unit can do 2 wayactive. the 980bt says 3 way on the pioneer website for cross overs.
  17. and if you are looking for one around the same price range a maybe a hundred more then a RE audio 12" XXX would kill them.
  18. hi, i am getting ready to put in me xxx comps in since i blew the tweeter in my current speakers. ( The newer type r's) i am wondering which amp would you choose if you where only runnning front speakers. Sundown Saz 100.2 and do passive with the came in the box x overs Sundown Saz 100.4 and do active ( the only thing that is turning me away is i want 200 rms @ 2ohm) Kicker Sx700.4 and do active ( see above for the turn off) Kicker sx900.4 and do active ( the only bad thing is the Price) Eclipse XA4000 and do active( 2 thing wrong not sure if the x over can run a 2 way active and the 175 watts) and if it makes any difference i am getting a pioneer 980bt for the headunit i am open to suggestion on amps. one more thing. if i take a dmm and set it to ohms i get 2.1 ohms for the mid range and 3.5 for the tweeter is that suppose to be like that?
  19. i already e-mailed you guys about it a think a week.ago 965 i think it was.i got a small 250 doller bonus so i am getting the enclosure done now.
  20. "is that box 2.2/ea sub or 2.2 total box size?" -SSaudio ( won't let me qoute) that is each sub.
  21. hi, i am thinking of getting 2 12" D1 icons and putting them in a 2.2 F^3 ported enclosure tuned to 33 hz and possably being powered by a Saz 1500d. i am not a basshead by anymeans. and i listen to mostly to rap and i am wondering how loud would they be even the above info(granted that they are sq subs).
  22. oh i forgot i posted this here. i think i am going to go with powermaster. i think i am going to go with PWM-D1200 under the hood and a D3100 in the trunk and maybe add another d3100 later on. the reason for the d1200 instead of the d2400 is that i thought i could fit it if i took out my curent battery tray and lower it but i found out that directly underneath is the valvebody for the tranny. so i can't fit the d2400
  23. hi, i am looking at batteries i am wondering which would be better. kinetic or powermasteror stinger , this is for under the hood and the biggest kinetic i can get is the hc1400 ( because of height) and the biggest powermaster that i can fit is either the PWM-D2400 but if i go with the powermaster would it still be ok to have like the hc2400 in the back or should i go with 2 PWM-D3100 it is going to be a 3k rms system i belive. also i i was looking at stinger's battery too since they are short. my max height is like 8.3" the powermaster's push it then there is the 1400 then stingers are like 7" ( i have to remeasure to see what stinger can fit. also though how big of a battery do i need if i am , going to connect my system to the rear battery.
  24. speaken of the kx possably the KX450.2 since it is fairly priced. anything bad about the sx series i was looking at them because of the sxrc
