  1. Run a different signal source to your amp to see if it's your head unit failing.
  2. Mitek owns MTX and they are out of Wisconsin.
  3. And then.... lol And then I used it for a couple years and sold it. I don't think it had much longer left to live.
  4. I have had a few MTX amps and they always did a pretty good job.
  5. That's awesome man. My daughter loves to help out too.
  6. There are three loads to choose from with these subs. Half ohm, two ohm, or eight ohms. (If you have all six subs.)
  7. I can't view them either.
  8. That amp will be fine for that sub. I'm not a big fan of JL, so I have never owned one to give you any further information.
  9. Great excursion!
  10. That is one slick looking truck man!
  11. I think your sticker is ruined. Was the glass cold, did you press each letter on firmly?
  12. Clean the glass really well peel the backing and apply like any other vinyl sticker.
  13. i was thinking about getting a volt meter for that reason. Is that a good idea or a waist of time? volt meter for what? well a lot of people hook them up to THE amp so they no for sure the volts arnt dropping Volt meters should be connected to the battery with a fused lead and chassis ground. They are a waste of time and money unless you are running large amounts of power IMO.
  14. I had a similar issue once. I switched my grounding location and it solved my mysterious noise problem.
  15. Having a secondary battery adds reserve and delivers large amounts of current upon demand. I would never advise blasting your gear without the engine running for daily use. As for clipping lights, the ear is a much better device to detect clipping in your subs IMO.
  16. I read quite a few questions regarding electrical supply and demand so I decided to post this link to help figure out any electrical dilemma you may be having. http://www.the12volt.com/ohm/ohmslawcalculators.asp
  17. The amplifier would be drawing around 150A running at full power. I would suggest a secondary battery.
  18. Also if your signal wires are ran along side the power wire you will sometimes get excessive noise through rca's. I agree with Julian to check your grounds as well.
  19. Here is how you figure out if you have enough power. Ohm's law is very simple to understand and apply. For the amount of current you will be drawing for any application you divide your total wattage by your idle voltage. For instance for the 500 watt amp, take 500/13.5=37 amps. That is assuming 13.5 is idle voltage, to figure out exactly what yours is, use a DMM to test voltage with rpm's at idle directly at your battery. Hope this helps you to find solutions on your own and gain just a little knowledge while you're at it. Study and review ohm's law so you can find solutions to just about any electrical dilemma.
