    A little too enthusiastic, no?
  2. I like cats, I just can't eat a whole one by myself.
  3. If you're looking to increase output, why are you shooting for a box on the smaller side? Also, slot ports make it a lot easier to attain optimum port area. If you haven't checked out the sample enclosures on this site I encourage you to do so.
  4. I thought it was an interesting read, but to post a 2 year old thread which started by calling people idiots...a little counter productive.

Welcome to the forum, I bet that box is going to be fantastic!
  6. Let's eat Grandma Let's eat, Grandma Punctuation, it saves lives!
  7. Welcome, if you're looking for advice, you've come to the right place.
  8. Massive audio N4, 2k watts at 1ohm since the XXX is 2 ohm DVC. I can get a recone, Fi makes them and they're like $100 so I'd have a badass 15" and still be under budget. So I'd probably order it and just take it somewhere local rather than shipping a 55+ pound sub to Vegas. If I buy a new sub, ill be get an Icon 15 or 18. The Speaker Exchange has been reconing for decades, my first system was 2 12" Cerwin Vegas that slammed like hell and only cost me $100. They moved locations, check out their website. Or if you're up to it there are lots of good threads on this forum how to do it.
  9. The topic of rear speakers or "rear fill" have been posted on many, many times. Which set of components is also a hot topic on this forum. If you haven't tried the search function yet, you might want to; some people have luck with it, others don't. You might want to consider starting a new thread on the component system that might be a good match for you, unless you want to go active- but that takes a whole lot more effort. Good luck!
  10. What are you going to power it with? I'd rather buy a GCON for $200 than a sub that's 7 years old unless you know you'd be able to get a recone.
  11. Welcome to SSA, I would suggest you don't have any rear speakers and use that budget for better front speakers. No one has ever sat in the front of my car and complained the front stage wasn't loud enough. P.S. I am from Florida and I have no idea why people have 16 speakers fiber-glassed into their front doors. On behalf of all the non-ridiculous front speaker builds in the state I apologize, and on a side note I also know how to vote. We have nice beaches!
  12. Remind me never to open any links you send at work, thanks. LOL, I now know what NSFW means!
  13. If you haven't upgraded your electrical I would definetly recommend the 2000.
  14. I see us more going the way of Europe, but many of them are facing huge financial problems and are having to cut back on their social programs, which often results in rioting.
  15. I want Ron Paul's policy to work, but it's too simplistic. I did vote for him in the primary, however.
  16. The cure is education. Only problem we have as a society is that our kids are all lazy fucks and won't get educated nor would they work. That's true for more than half of the kids, but there are still some good ones out there...who will be working and paying for the slackers to collect SSI, food stamps, section 8, free pre-k, free trips to the emergency room, etc, etc, etc.
  17. From a pure economics standpoint, I'm concerned. We are providing incentives for laziness, greed, incompetence, immoral behavior, etc. Did you have unprotected sex at 17 and pop out a kid, no problem! We reward you with checks, food, utilities, cell phones, health care etc. The number of people receiving government subsidies is growing at an astonishing rate. We are rapidly running out people who actually work and pay taxes. I'm sad
  18. Ciders and ales were complete crap compared to a good german beer. That was about the only bad part of my trip to the UK Don't get me wrong, I love a good beer, but I like's my cider!
  19. I love those English ciders, drink a Woodpecker for me!
  20. There are a couple of companies out there that make processors that add bass to the music. The most common one is the Matrix by Audio Control. True fans of SQ would never use one, but there have been a few people on this forum, who mostly listen to Latin music, who use them and like them. I'm not sure this will be the perfect solution for you, but search for it and get some other opinions. Good to hear you like your front stage now, out of curiosity, what did you get?
  21. I'm at the point in my life where I'd like to own far fewer things, but I would love for them to be high quality, preferably made in US. It is good that there is cheap Chinese garbage for those unwilling or unable to afford quality goods; it's hard to complain about having choices.
  22. There is absolutely nothing wrong at all with powering a sub with a class AB amp. Op, why are you wanting to run that many speakers? In car audio more is not always better, and with mids and highs, less will usually sound better.
  23. I could be wrong, I'm no M5 or Impious, but "muddy" sound is often caused by multiple speakers playing the same frequency. Check your crossover points and make sure your front stage and sub stage aren't overlapping.
  24. The guy from basic car audio found that many of the cheap caps he bought to test didn't even work.
  25. That's not an easy choice, those are both great subs. Why not support the forum and go with the Icon?
