  1. Most amps are extremely limited with their crossover abilities. Do it right, or don't do it at all. I am getting a crossover. thats what im saying im getting a cross over and an amp and im using the headunit to tell the amp to cross the mids and sub at 80hz. You followin me?
  2. Who wants to see a teaser for the red rockets. New build? like this comment
  3. A crossover haha from the amp uhh i'be yet to look at crossovers so any pointers in that direction?
  4. Indeed indeed dbsupra. Nem and i have been talking and we are gonna make the mids active and tweets passive. So we can use the headunit to process the mids to cross at 80hz then the mids will round off at around what the tweets will pick up at 2khz
  5. I'm always gonna have nems help until i am a master such as himself and you other here on the forum!
  6. Okay I got what you're saying now I'm just looking at getting some xcons and really need to upgrade the front but will be amplified with some nice comps. Thanks for the help guys I gotta talk to nem a little more about it and then we will see what we are gonna do thanks for the help and info
  7. that's what's u brother
  8. Stick with a pre-built component set right now, IMO. It will be easier to get good performance at your knowledge level from a pre-built comp set than you would with an active setup. yeah but I'm trying to save a little bit of money here to where I just need to get some tweeters. And an amp but I hope I got that covered soon. But a processor what is it?
  9. Okay what will a processer do for me I have never heard of one of thoes. Sorry for being a noob I just wanna learn
  10. Im planning on getting a nice 4 channel amp. and i think my headunit has the active crossover? its the Pioneer akh-p1400. so im not sure unless one of you guys know. My frequency range would be probably around 80hz to the midbass and then from the midbass. im not sure what they would stop at for the tweeters. like 2khz? idk i just need help fellas. im still a newbie. YOU MUST TEACH ME YOUR WAYS
  11. Don't wanna sound like a dick haha but me and nem raided our local carpet shops dumpster for leftover carpet and padding with permission of course
  12. Absolutely m5 but like I said I'm not sure I was just looking for suggestions for some good sounding tweeters. They are gonna be mounted on my windsheild frame covers left and right then maybe another set on the dash if I go with another component set. What would be a particularly good cross over if I were to say being getting these Mach 5s ?
  13. What are your goals? To sound really good Where do you want to cross them? Meaning? What are you planning to use as a crossover? not sure yet What is your budget? 70 What are your sound preference? Steer me in a good direction What dimensions are you able to deal with? Any What mids are you using? Hopefully mach 5's *cough cough* NEM
  14. Can some one steer me in a good direction for sound quality tweeters not super tweeters that sound like poop but are really loud. thanks to anyone who can help!
  15. Whats don's website for CDL tiles
  16. Always a good thing to double check your work especially if can cost you if you screw stuff up.
  17. Okay and yes if it isnt the batteries then i would say check the alt its an obvious problem that you have already found out being the alt. but sorry i couldnt help. but i hope everything gets back up and running well.
  18. But i would make less of an ass of my self if i would have read that you fixed the problem haha. sorry swift
  19. It sounds to me like a battery not that i know a whole helluva lot but if your battery is resting at 12.6 thats pretty low especially for running the sp4's with it. im sure you have more than one battery hooked up tho. But if you change youre bat to one of the 12.95s and try to put some music to it while it runs i would hope its up in the mid 14.- whatever voltage mine is at 14.2 or so i think for my voltage at an idle on my ap1500.1 and GCON ported. at rest its 12.8v when its on at idle its about 14.2v. and im running a stock alternator in my E-150
  20. I have a question can you send an alternator away to get built so it will put out more amps or is that something you could do at home with like a kit or would i just be better off buying a new bigger one? let me know what you all know/ think. Thanks!
  21. You can pretty much do anything of the such to put them on your door. i have seen people take circles of wood and like take fiberglass resin and form housing that comes out of the doors. And it looks pretty badass. You can also buy the plastic adapters for your doors to fit it into aswell. hope this helps!
