  1. Yep, that's why science can never say anything is 100% fact... INCLUDING general theory of relativity.. you'd think by now we would have nailed gravity right? Nope.. Quantum Mechanics does not cope well with gravity.. it coincides with it.. Interesting thing to think about! Anyways, one thing that intrigues me is Science is just one path to take for looking for proof of certain things.. Perhaps other studies like Philosophy, etc has a better understanding of things that science would not be able to.. As of today, nobody really knows what consciousness really is, but we might as well register on another forum if we keep going on about stuff like this, hehe.
  2. This subject i brought up can go on til eternity.. i do not want it to so i'll try to make you understand Science's POV. Science, to this day, cannot explain what happened in your post. That's TODAY... 10yrs from now maybe it will. Looking back to the past til now, it's a recurring cycle.. this happens this way, that means this must be true, etc.. Over time, we learn more about the world and then discredit previous information. Since science is based on proof rather than faith, it must be taken as such. Science is the blunt but true answer to information like this. Science also deals with the likeliness as well instead of absolute fact BECAUSE science allows for a better answer to come in the future. Because of this, the other side of the debate will use this fact and twist it into a point of .... well science can not ever actually prove anything therefore it's useless... Science will come back and say this- IF we toss out science, then everything around you would not exist. Science works on the probability and likeliness and most importantly.. What works! IF it didn't work, we wouldn't still be using it as proper information. So, this is my view along with theirs- Whatever you see or experience in life, do not automatically assume it's of another world in whatever context the experience was, but rather research the possibility of how it happened in our current laws that govern the world. Of course we aren't scientist but in my opinion, it's better to go after the truth rather than fall easily to the unexplained that can never be proven.
  3. OMG.. hahahahahahaha. My reasons for aluminum is the resistance in time to oxidation. I had a copper bar here that started visually oxidizing in 2 weeks. I still have aluminum material in the garage from 09 that still looks new. I know you can spray or paint protection on copper but user error could result in oxidation and not know it. I hate that small but possible percentage that can happen. Even sharing same ampacity to copper, aluminum is still cheaper and doesn't really require too much extra room. I say copper is good for small pieces including wire but aluminum will rival for everything else... Plus if you need to run 500 buss bars, lol.. aluminum will save you a lot of weight too.
  4. Not to be the topic killer but i like to research and be on the frontline of new discoveries and denying without proof ever submitted that any supernatural event has ever occurred. Science is based on proof and nothing has ever been brought forth to show how any of this has happened... The current answer is because we do not understand it, it must be supernatural. Well, not too long ago, it was publicly shown on the world news that those in the past who have been "possessed" that appeared to be the girl from the exorcist were actually never possessed a new study finds that is being proven to this day. I do not know the condition but it is a mental condition that is fixed fully by just medicine over a 3-4 month course. If you truly feel someone has special access to the unexplained, have them thoroughly tested. Be the one who creates a new frontier for science if you believe it to be true.
  5. There is a kit i plan on purchasing but something doesn't add up and the owner of the product doesn't know the current ratings of his own product because he is refusing to answer that question.. Here is scenario- 4 strips of 225 3color rgb leds. the controller it's going to be on is rated for 18A max, 3 channel(6A per channel). Now, going by what i know.. typical LEDs pull 20mA. These are 5050 RGB leds which are really 3 leds per LED.. 5050s pull more than 20mA just in solid color.. So, even if i were optimistic and only counted 225 leds per run, at 20mA, that's still 4.5A per strip.. There's 4 strips and 3 channels.. I've told the owner this and they tell me- The details are the wiring is simple. Each ring is daisy chain connected to the next and all go to one controller. So one set of wires is all that goes inside the vehicle to one controller. Our controllers are specifically matched to our kits to handle the amount of lights we use with them. This way, we give you everything you need and nothing is under powered, fuses blowing, wires melting, ect. So if it works.. then it doesn't make any sense.. I can buy an amp for this controller.. but it specifically states if you use an amp and do not need it, it will damage the controller...
  6. I would personally like to hear them before buying but if you do that, make sure you give the seller a notice so they are prepared to show that.
  7. Go to an actual battery only distributor.
  8. Yep, i prefer it over copper.
  9. While i've never owned vehicles that require such integration into these harnesses, i don't have the time to research alternatives to manufactured wire harnesses. The MOST i would do is look into Scosche or the other wire harness company and see if they have cheaper harnesses. Besides that, that would be your only choice(s)
  10. I wouldn't post something i wouldn't run.
  11. From what i see, Metra's Adbox harness kits is what you need. Steering wheel controls by itself is not necessary. Read about Metra's AX-Adbox and AX-Adbox1 for more details
  12. Well, because you would need to wire your Dcon to 2ohm bridged on a 4chan amp, you would need a 4chan amp stable at 1ohm per channel.. I do not even know if they make them like that so i'll go ahead and tell you that a 5channel amp is recommended. Massive Audio NX5- http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_27733_Massive-Audio-NX5.html 120x4 @4ohm and the mono channel is rated for 800w @1ohm. So, you should expect 400-500w @2ohm.

  14. Use aluminum. You need a LOT more thickness than 1\8" lol. I have never heard of buss bars being that thin. For the bare minimum, 600A, you can use one of the following sizes- 2" wide x 7\16" thick 2 1\4" - 2 1\2" wide x 3\8" thick 3" wide x 5/16" thick Now, for more optimal sizing, here are sizes rated for 1,000A continuous (i like to always use overkill specs to reduce resistance at all costs) 2" wide x 3\4" thick 2.5" wide x 5\8" thick 3" wide x 1\2" thick
  15. Yes, just wire each coil to the amp. The amp settings will have to measurably be set the same and receive the same input signal from the same source. And. again, the coil configurations need to be the same.
  16. OMG! It took 8 months for the Goop to cure? Screw that, lol.
  17. Not if you don't want the surround attached to anything.. freeair the surround, lol.
  18. I will tell you this that it took me a while to understand this until i finally did, lol.. Ohm's law is in effect at all times and NEVER assume a certain parallel\series wiring configuration in any circumstance will net you more power(manifested from where?) because it won't happen. Lets take 2 2000w amps. they do their power at 1ohm. So that's 4,000w @1ohm. Strap these amps. It's now 4,000w @2ohm. If you start to attempt to deduce the voltage and current output, you would think that the current output on the strapped pair is cut in half because it's at 2ohm instead of 1ohm.. Well, you would be correct except EACH amp is putting out the same current, it's not actually divided between each amp like how it is when wiring 2 subs to 1 amp. When strapping amps(except for stetsom), they are in a series connection. Series connection splits voltage across the outputs, not the current. I'm telling you this because you are trying to find a way to use uneven coil configurations together in unison and it's impossible effectively. There will be no way around it unless they had the same configuration.
  19. If they are different coil configurations which is apparent they are, then wiring them together in ANY orientation will result in one receiving twice the power as the other. This will cause cancelation and phasing issues because even though the TS parameters of the two may be near identical, there excursion levels will not be which will throw each other off.
  20. Your terminology doesn't make any sense and do not follow at all what you are stating. Remove all wiring from every terminal on both subs. Do ALL 4 terminals(2 per sub) read the same? If they do not, then do NOT use them together.
  21. When replacing electronics in newer vehicles, it can take a good 48hrs before voltage levels return back to normal. It's so the computer can adjust itself.
  22. Yea, and you still have to tell it what you are wired to because they didn't have enough money to figure that out..
  23. Huh? SSA makes Icons so 2 12" SSA what vs 1 SSA icon?
  24. Whats the temp there right now? It's hot as hell here.. curious how maine feels this time of year.
