Steve, Much of the advice you wrote here is words I have heard all my life, and listened too late. While I have no bits of advice that stick out in my head that have not already been said let me offer some of my own. Never assume beacuse you are with a "friend" you are safe with their family. They may be good but their family can be the Mr Hyde aspect of them. If you really want the girl when drunk, get the number and call the next day. Its not worth the bs if you forget something when you are with her. School, school, school. If you don't have 5 million in the bank now, you need to be in school, so you can earn that living. Money may not buy happiness, but it sure makes it alot easier to achieve. Lastly, SAVE EVERYTHING Tax returns, recepts, any money you can save, paperwork. Shit that doesn't look "necessary" today is the shit you'd kill to have back tomorrow. J

Easy fight the guy on the light shit. They keep records of when lights turn. and it looks like a busy street so a camera might have caught it. Glad to know she is not seriously hurt tho. That IS the most important thing. Also what did the cops say? was he drunk or any alcohol in his system? And were there any marks to show anyone tried to avoid it? J

As kent said knowledge, training and responsibilites cannot be over used. Safeties can be a great tool, but they don't solve it all. they don't GUARENTEE its gonna work 100% of the time. I mean shit when was the last time u saw a gun maker give a 100% life back guarentee that the safety is perfect? Cause I never seen it. I know when downrange we had an M16 accident in another unit. dude thought his weapon was clear and picked it up. He didn't have the safety off, and tripped on a rock. When he fell the weapon discharged. Shell right into the girl infront of him's back. We thought the round went down range. We ended up finding out on the way back it went into the back of her vest and COMPLETLY fucked the plate. She didn't even feel it surprisingly. Moral of the story? Make sure ur weapon is CLEAR and on SAFE at all times that you are not intending to fire it. Cause god knows he wasn't. J

Its just been well over a month since I last was with her, and dude I gotta tell ya its been one hell of a month. The relationship is suffering due to the distance among other things, but we are trying our best. I think the 4th of July weekend is just what both of us need as people, and more importantly as a couple. I am just hoping I can soon get out of here and back to the east coast. J

It's not a problem at all. I'll probably use the weekend to finish building my router table ( just need to add the tracks for the guide and the holes for the router, and a sealent of some sort, b/c it likes to rain when I do wood-work. Right on man................enjoy said table. I'll be doing some work of my own

J It wouldn't be practical to drive down there unless I had a place to spend the night, I don't mind back-yard camping. Seeing as I have the weekend off and it would cost me ~50 dollars in gas. I might be able to swing it. No available place tho man. Plus this weekend is really about me an her man. The long distance shit makes it hella hard, especially with flight prices right now. J
