  1. Yes, for the noobs do NOT use that on plastic. I would have ASSumed the radio chassis would be mounted to metal.
  2. I use an impact driver similar to this made by Klein. A good whack with a brass mallet produces about 300 ft/lb of torque to loosen the screws. You have to use tempered bit tips though because it'll snap a regular but. Most imports use a loc tight material.
  3. This may be an ignorant question but why not brace the ceiling joist in the attic.
  4. I use a 1/2 inch steel rod and a hammer to indent the fire wall or floor. I then double check the opposite side to make sure I won't hit any wires or brake booster, ect. The indention will help the drill bit from walking also. I use a stepped drill bit to drill my holes, then insert a gromet and caulk the hole after the wire is ran. If you use split loom to cover the wire do not run it all the way through the hole into the cab because water can run between the loom and cable and go into the cab.
  5. Ground directly to the frame in the front and rear. Also ground the alternators to the frame.
  6. Why would it have to be bandpass? Unless you can fit all 4 straight across the bed with the port, then it won't be. Unless the front "chamber" is tuned, it's not a bandpass enclosure. Same idea as a manifold enclosure used extensively in HT. Albeit it's in a ported box and not IB
  7. I inspect bulk cargo vessels, and the Philippines have more able seamen than any other country in the world. Chances would be if you were a master or chief officer I would have met you.
  8. You can call directed electronics customer care number and they can confirm the same thing I have told you. It's found on their site.
  9. Whatever the problem, be it a faulty alarm output, loose wire, or instal error, the third ignition(white or pink with white wire) aka transmission wire is not being activated upon start-up via the remote start. Your check engine light will most likely come on when this happens.
  10. If your alarm is a newer model it will be the 3rd ignition wire and should be connected to the vehicle via a white wire or pink/white wire in the vehicle's ignition harness.
  11. There is an additional accessory wire that engages the relay for the transmission. A relay has to be used to engage the extra wire. Even when the remote is turned off by putting in the key and pushing the brake the transmission relay still won't engage. This is a common occurrence on newer gm's and is noted in directed's wiring guides.
  12. I would think an unknown random approach would generate more traffic as long as everyone knew what day the deal would take place. A large countdown on the store and the forum with a clickable link to the details would work well also.
  13. Sounds like you have bad batteries or a weak charger. I have 4 Odyssey deep cycle batteries for my boat that are 7 years old that are drained on a weekly basis during the summer. I use an Intella Power 60 amp converter and they charge back up every time.
  14. It going to depend on the drivers being used
  15. Use 14 square inches of port per net cubic feet and make it 32 inches long. You will be tuned about 32-33 hertz.
  16. Anyone use the Nikon 3100? Post you impressions.
  17. Everyone that uses a class D amp are sending clipped signals to their speakers. When an analog signal which is infinite in value,Changes by a digital processor to a digital signal which is finate(ie, on or off like computer code) it is by definition clipped.
  18. I have several things on the way. The first round of things are being manufactured right now and will be available towards the end of January.
  19. No more ply= more more layers= more crossing of grain making it more rigid. The density and voids are determined on the grade.
  20. below is an old video from 2008 of two 12's on a single 500/1 http://www.myspace.com/audibelcustoms/videos/video/27038431
  21. They don't break in f1 engines. Tolerances are so tight they are seized at room temperature. They have to be heated to crank them up.
  22. Considering the number of people that use iPhones I would use a format that isn't entirely Flash.
  23. No more enclosures. I have other things brewing for the first of the year.
