  1. I would build a sealed enclosure with a qtc of .707 (enclosure with flattest responce possible) and place it in your vehicle where you expect the wall to be. Then using a Term lab place the mic where you want it loudest, wheather that be at the headrest, dash, window, ect. Then play a sine sweep to find the sweet spot where the car will peak at this location. Then model an enclosure with a 3db or so peak at this frequency, (not tune to this frequency) and see what the response looks like. If need be you can tweek it to make it the loudest possible ported enclosure while still being musical. If you need help modeling the enclosure just hollar.
  2. I hope you don't have that installed at the radio. I would run the input wire to your amps just incase you have a voltage drop due to a faulty connection between your power source and yuor amps.
  3. Do they want 1000 just for the struts? That kit number retails for 906 and only comes with struts, no line or gauges. I should be able to get the kit to you for 650 assuming shipping is no more than 30 bucks. The shipping weight is 13 pounds so I woulnt think shipping would be over that
  4. I do believe that's his wife
  5. I think Rockford's nissans were one of his best installs.
  6. I,m not that damn old. He was undefeated for what 12 years before he quit competing?
  7. He co owns a rep firm now. I learned a lot of install skills from him and Brian Scmitt(sp?) around 2002-2005 when they were with Rockford.
  8. Being you are looking for a specific goal take a look at this befor eyou choose a specific volume and tuning. speaker responce and transfer function
  9. As I said before I don't know much about the indusrty. I needed a 4 link and equipment for my dually. I purchased an Air Ride Air Bar from them so they do carry them. Below is a listing of the companies they carry. I don't plan on selling a bunch of this any they carry a ton of product which is too much to list so if there is anything particular you need let me know.
  10. I'll check with them tomorrow to see what they offer
  11. Is this a drop or just helper bags to handle extra weight
  12. do the blow thru and buy an enclosed trailer for the groceries
  13. Like I said I don't know much about the industry but if you can get name brands and model numbers I can look up costs for you. My distributor is oneof the largest in the industry so I am sure they carry what you need.
  14. Prohormones should enter the blood stream before entering the liver therefore not causing liver damage, or that's what they say. The only prohormone I have taken or anyone I know of taking that acually worked was Androstat 850 but it was banned back in 2002. I went from totaling 950lbs at High School Powerlifting Nationals @ 120 lbs body weight in March of 2002 to totaling around 1200lbs @ 135lbs body weight at the end of May 2002 at a local meet. The stuff was amazing, but like everything else that works you can't legally buy it anymore. Thoughout my whole powerlifting career I went to nutritionists once a week to have check ups and all my blood work and check ups were always a-ok. My hormone levels were always elevated a little as expected, but always with in USAPL guidelines.
  15. I needed some air suspensions parts for a personal project and found it much cheaper to open an account with a supplier than to buy retail. So I now have access to a large aray of air suspension parts. I don't know very much about this area of expertise so I can't really recommend any specific product but if anyone needs anything I have access to most everything from valves, to 4 links, to pre fabricated sheet metal tubs and fender wells.
  16. ENCLOSURE CALCULATIONS SPEAKER RESPONSE AND HOW VOLUME AND TUNING AFFECT THEM BASIC ENCLOSURE CALCULATIONS CALCULATORS FOR WIRING YOUR SPEAKERS
  17. The below link is one of the best I have found on basic car audio information. Be sure to read the speaker response curve section. BASIC CAR AUDIO ELECTRONICS
  18. There's a good reason why higher end companys with low capital don't make square subs. edit: notorious beat me to it
  19. Start another thread in my section I'll post the response curves along with the reasoning behind them so people can fully understand tuning an enclosure
  20. do you prefer i contact you threw your yahoo email or pm's on here?
  21. On a side note lance has 4 18's zcons in his Yukon xl which is not much longer than a tahoe and I'm sure is not "optimal" and everyone is just giddy over it.
  22. Use the largest volume possible with the tuning that will give you the flatest response curve with the lowest bass extension so you can enjoy all music. Who ever builds your box will be able to model this for you and show you what combination will work best. However most every daily system never has a flat response. Almost all manufacturer recomended specs will have a 3-5 db boost in the 40 hertz range and still have good low end output. If you still want me to build the enclosure I will take the time to model 5 or 6 variations to show you how the different combinations react
  23. Don't let him lie to y'all. The wife told him he could only go with the icons. I told him to man up and beg her to let him buy some xcons instead. Well, a long long time ago my Momma and my Daddy had sexy time and.............. lol Not such a young man anymore, but all started when I was 16. First system was a RF punch 45, punch 150, and some Cerwin Vega Moofers. I was hooked from that day and still am. Dont really think I will ever stop being a basshead, but my tastes have grown to like things not only very loud, but to really sound good too. I have always had something going on in every car I have had, even company cars much to the owners dismay. lol I was very fortunate to have the company cars for a good many years of my life, but since they were not mine I couldn't really go crazy with them and I missed it. Long story short, I lost that job and bought the Yukon. Decided it was time for something really big again and here we are. I did give it an honest effort to try and grow up a little bit with the Dynaudio and 15" Xcons not too long ago, but fact is I love it loud and in your face. Always have. I do plan on getting another car here one day and making the Yukon more of a toy than a DD, and will do a little something with the Dyn's again. Read much smaller scale. Even though I have installed hundreds of systems in my life, I have learned more from the good folks on SSA than I did in all those years. I swear there are some on here that amaze me with the knowledge they have. Agree or disagree with how it's put out there there is a lot to be learned from this tech team. Thank you Buddy. I really appreciate that!
  24. It'll work perfectly fine. No it won't maximize the potential Output of the subs. But it will be louder than sealed. I have already worked up both enclosures. Going with his available dimensions he will get a relatively smooth curve with a "f" of around 31. And an f3 of about 27. Where as the "optimal" specs the box would have a 3-4 dv peak between 37 and 42 hertz. With a f3 of around 30 The smaller enclosure will have a tab bit more oomph in the lower 30's however it will not be as loud as the larger enclosure which is expected. Personally if I was dead set on 3 18's I would go with the smaller ported enclosure over a sealed enclosure. But that is my personal preference
  25. A flare is like on an aero port. A flanged port is like when spl guys cut PVC in half and put it on the baffle to help transition airflow. If you are flanging both sides of the port then you need to go by your measurements measuring from inside the flanges As winlsd states
