  1. So what's SP4 stand for? Obviously the 4 is for 4" voice coil, but what does the "SP" stand for? My guess is "Super Punk".
  2. Follow you instincts. Contact the guy and go over what you want done. If you have a funny feeling after contacting him, then there is your answer. If you come to an agreement for services with him and you don't get what was specified then you know for sure. Not exactly reassuring, I know, but that's life. Even the best fall on their face. Here is a little something extra for the road. Consumers who don't know exactly what they want done are the ones most likely to be disappointed. Good luck.
  3. I offered $50 :\ They haven't gotten back with me yet.
  4. That's one big f@cking dust cap on that PR. In for results.
  5. Spiffy! I like the SSA into in the vid, came out kickass!
  6. It does have some catchy-ness to it.
  7. Classic, a speaker manufacturer using a white van to promote products.

Cone area is king in an automotive IB setup. I run a pair of Fi IB3 18s and couldn't be happier. When I feel like a little SQ I turn the sub amps down. When I feel like shaking the frame, the sub amps are turned up, easy peasy. Just contact Fi so the subs can be optimized for automotive use, remember these are intended for home use.
  11. You bet your ass they do. And I'm gonna give it to them! O_o
  12. In the mean time here is a little joke to make time go by: Check it. There's these four little nuns. One morning they decide to go out and help the community. They hop into the church station wagon and drive off into the city. Around the first turn and BAM! Head on into a garbage truck. The nuns awake before Peter and the Pearly Gates. "Now before I can let ya'll up in here," Peter says. "Ya'll need to confess your one and only sin." "You front and center" Ordered Peter, pointing at the first nun. The first nun walks up and confesses, "I touched a penis" "NO!" Gasp Peter. "And what did you touch that penis with?" He asks. "My finger" She replied, holding up here middle finger at Peter. "Ha, ha, very funny." Said Peter putting his palm over his forehead says, "Go dip that finger in the holy water and scoot on in there missy" "Now serving number two!" Peter yelled out with a grin on his face. The second nun walks up. "I too touched a penis!" "And what did you touch that penis with?" Peter asked. "My hand!" She cried out while waving here hand in the air. "Hmmm?" Peter replied raising one eyebrow. "Go dip that hand in the holy water and stay out of the finger foods while you're in there young lady. Ya hear!" The third nun made here way up to Peter, when suddenly out of nowhere the fourth nun shoves her out of the way and makes a dash for the holy water right past Peter. "What the hell is going on?" Peter yelled. "Oh, my apologies Peter." Confesses the fourth nun. "I just want to wash my mouth out with the holy water before that one dips her ass in it." Now back to your regular programing.
  13. Nice baffle. Reminds me of a new born being sent home from the hospital, how they wrap the little one up tight with a white blanket so all you see is there little face. Congrats on the new record.
  14. Woot! And a Woot, Woot for the special lady friend. God bless their generous little hearts.
  15. I've got a pair of 9515 with the pulp cones and carbon dust caps. They sound fine with all music. I do find myself tinkering with the bass knob when going from rap to rock and vice versa. Pretty much turning the bass down to match the mids and highs. If the mids and highs are lacking then no about of adjusting on the subs is going to fix that. Well, scratch that, you can cross the subs higher to an extent, but the sound is going to be a bit different.
  16. I like your panel saw in the back ground. Any info on it? Looks like good work done for 5 hrs. I can't even get out all my tools in an hour, yet alone get a box done in 5.
  17. Happy Veterans Day to all those involved in the cause.
  18. Okay, I think I get the 96 poles, it's the number of stator wire groups inline with the axis of the alternator?... The reason I ask about the power requirement is I swapped out the CS130 alt out of my olds, in my sig, for a AD244. I cut off the original connector for the CS130 alt and put a AD244 connector with a 5 watt 85 ohm resistor on the "L" terminal. Will this new alternator of yours work in this application?
  19. While the 6 phase stuff sort of makes sense, two stators in a way. The 96 pole stuff is beyond me. Usually when I hear about poles in an alternator it's referring to the "fingers" wrapping around the field coil on the rotor. Typically there are 12 poles/"fingers" on an alternator. Are you saying there are 96 poles on the rotor of this alternator? How much horsepower does it take to produce this much amperage? To the motor this has got to be the equivalent of churning molasses by hand on a cold day.
  20. I just checked the site myself, you guys are right, nothing new there. :\
  21. Anybody see the Fi Audio website lately? O_o
