Bro that avatar just cracks me up. Just one left for my next build, 1970 Chevy Monte Carlo. o_o Sure you don't have one hiding in that sig? They sure make life easy. We'll see how it measures up in an SPL setup.

Just an inch of progress today. I hope you all didn't think I was going active off the amps crossover's. Cleaned up the wiring to the crossovers and got them properly mounted. These are under the drivers side rear seat. Under the passengers side rear seat is this bad boy. With the processor mounted on the floor I can still fold down the passengers side rear seat to access the third row. Did I mention this Suburban came with a front bench seat. No center console, so this monster seats 9. o_o The amp will be mounted on the drivers side rear seat rails, so that side will not fold down properly to access the third row. Any who here's a pic of the MS8 all wired up ready to party.

Since Nick is hell bent on Fords. I just though I'd post an example of what happens when you don't bother learning how to use what you just bought. Enjoy.- A Suburban A Warhorse and a pair of Double Dees
The wife said it was progress in the wrong direction when I removed the interior. The wire is 6awg both going into the distro box and out, just because. 80 fuses at the battery and the run to the amp. Need to check what the max amp input for the processor. wife had the same look on her face when I said, "Look at what I did today." Thanks. I do, I do. I hug it, and squeeze it, and call it George. Then, the wife yells, " Get that sh!t out of the bed!" Wonk wonk wonk. Yep, interior is pretty huge. I'm thinking of just putting in the driver seat and installing a ping pong table, starting a moving ping pong tournament. I think it'll be a hit at the local college.- My ZX10r

What's up fellas? Just trying to make some progress around these parts. I've got a little progress report for all of you. Hey, wait a sec, I'm Texan, I meant to say, "Ya'll." I'm working towards getting the front stage going. For my build I'm going to keep the electrical for the front stage separate from the sub-stage. The front stage electrical will be wired directly to the front battery. This will allow me to remove the rear battery bank and sub-box without affecting the front stage. God only knows why I'd want to go through the hassle of doing that, but to be honest, I wouldn't sleep comfortably at night if I didn't have the option. I once heard being rich isn't about having money, being rich is about having options. I like having options. Enough with the preaching, on with the pics. First an impressive state of disassembly. It's not a proper build if you don't strip the interior to the point your significant other says WTF. I'll be wiring the front stage with a scoche amp wiring kit from walmart. To get it to work I added a modified 1/0 ring terminal to the battery cable. Like all things GM this thing has side post terminals. It's always questionable trying to squeeze in a ring terminal under the factory terminal. Roaming the isles of Walmart I found this bad boy for a buck fifty in the automotive section. The longer bolt pops right in place and the lead spacer is easily trimmed to accommodate additional terminals. Here is mine in place. Nothing fancy here just mounting the maxi-fuse in place with some rivnuts. Fuse mounted. For those interested there is a nice little area under this thing-a-ma-jig to run your power wire through in a suburban. The thing-a-ma-jig has been removed and is off to the side. Here I am mounting the distribution block on the rear floor air duct under the drivers side seat. I'm telling you, these rivnuts are awesome. Distribution block mounted. Here is what's coming up next. Routing the wires, mounting the crossovers and front stage amp.- TeamSSA Meet
I say some time in May before it gets too hot. Just a thought. There are some comps coming up in San Antonio. We can meet up at one and not worry about getting run off by the law.- TeamSSA Meet

I used them as a union to add on wire to the subs. Here let me try this again. This time with pictures. The prepped wires and crimp sleeve. Assembled and ready for crimping. Any ol' crimper will work. Crimped and ready for some insulation. Lastly some heat shrink tubing to finish things off. Hope this helps.- A Suburban A Warhorse and a pair of Double Dees

Sunday, fun day. Well sort of. Hmmm, how can I put this? When I first built my box I envisioned putting my amp on the face opposite of the ports. At the time, I was going to run a Crescendo 3KWP. This was my reasoning for putting the speaker connections where I did. Well I got this silly Kicker amp and now the speaker terminals aren't going to fly. What can I say, change of plans. In the long run this is for the best as I didn't exactly think the original terminal locations through all that well and placed them too close to the speakers. Well here is a pic of my fix. Here I'm setting up the new terminal locations. Yep, setting them up in the port this time around. A pair of generic 8ga spools for speaker wire overkill. Since Digital Designs uses that direct connection what have you I'll be using these thingies. A double dee sighting. My fancy crimping tool. All wired up and ready to drop in. Here is what it looks like in the box. All connections have been gone over with some heat shrink tubing. Up close shot of what's going on in the port. I'll be utilizing these to secure the woofers down in the box. o_o I flush mounted these woofers. To make for a clean looking install I rolled the carpeting into the speaker opening. This makes for a tight fit. To keep the gasket from getting caught I'll be using these. They are thin pieces of plastic packaging material. These will make installation a breeze and will slip right out without a hitch. Here it is, woofer installed. Opps, spoke too soon. Woofers installed. Up next, the amp- A Suburban A Warhorse and a pair of Double Dees
Thanks fellas. Well here is a mini update for the sake of progress. I'm adding a carpeted layer of mdf to the port side of the box to mount the amp. Here are my boards. No carpet on the backside. Just enough to wrap around the edge and a little extra to make a land for the staples. The black screw is what came with the amp for the mounting rail. I wasn't too impressed with it so I'm going to use a 10-32 and washers. In the wood I'll use a matching threaded insert for wood. As for the black specks on the wood, you caught me. This used to be my welding table. Yes I welded on wood. No biggie, my frayed jeans caught on fire more than the wood. o_o Here is the whole setup with the hanging rail in place. Test fit with the amp. Sorry for the blurry pic. Kind of tough to focus, hold and snap a pic with one hand, while the other props up the 60lbs amp assembly. Here are the boards secured on the box. Each board is held in with 12, 2-1/2" drywall screws. The reason I did this is the two boards make a nice little channel for me to run the power cables out of sight. This amp has it's power locations at an odd location, front, center, and offset towards the top. This way I can run the cables up over and back down the backside, out of sight, right through the floor to and battery bank. One more thing off the things to do list. and- New Crescendo amps FTMFW!!!!!!!

Thanks. The Mpyers are more like the Extremis since they are both Xbl^2. The AA polymids and the current carbon mids are both split coil design. Bummer Mpyer never got off the ground. Well, I've got no sense of style so I have to be industrial by default. Thanks.- SickNasty lil car build
