  1. Good luck. Inductance is gonna be high on these woofers. No shortening rings used in either. SP4 will be your best bet for hometheater if your shooting for a large low tuned box. Too much motor force in the Team sub for anything other than a ported box. Why the low inductance requirement? You looking to play them high up in frequency?
  2. You got yourself a good woman there.
  3. Congrats. Will be interesting to hear the results.
  4. So u go for it after all?

    Fucking bad ass truck.
  6. Happy B-Day.
  7. Ha, so this is where I left this thread. Needless to say, time flies when you're not in jail. Back to the task at hand. So, I wanted to do something special with this build. I am going to wrap the baffle in black leather. I did something similar in my cars' I.B. build. Some might be familiar with the story but for those who aren't, here goes. The black leather is salvaged from the first sofas me and the Misses bought together 15 yrs ago. That's it. I did this, so that when ever the Misses looks at them she is reminded of our time together and not the amount of money I've spent on my shenanigans. Now the pics. The before: During: The after: While the glue dries on that I made some mounting pads for the crossover. Here I am milling out some clearance pockets to clear all the zip ties holding the crossover components. The scissor jack controls the Z depth, and my hands control and the X and Y moves. That just happened. As an added measure I lined the backside of the crossover with a piece of adhesive lined felt. Just because I can. The finished product. More on the way, stay tuned.
  8. I call dibs when testing is over.
  9. Cool beans bro, congrats on the new woofer. When do i get a demo.
  10. Interesting. What's the mold made of? From this angle it looks like pancake batter. I'd like to see it done, my imagination is weak with this one, I have no idea where this build is going.
  11. Not sure what alternator came in ur blazer, but I would upgrade to an AD244 alternator out of a late model suburban. Those put out 145amps. From there do the big 3 and follow up with a battery or two. Good luck.
  12. Looks good, congrats to Mark for all his efforts and to Incriminator Audio, talk about stepping up. 0_o Awesome.
  13. Enjoy the anniversary of your journey around the sun. May your next trip be just as memorable. Dude.
  14. It would be cast and then polish cut. O_o DANG! Compromise nothing. Cant wait to see the results.
  15. That heatsink looks complex. I'm curious to see how it gets made.
  16. I must say, the wording seems off. "Tag a friend wants to see all the new ia subwoofers." I feel there should be a "that" after "friend" in there.
  17. User error.
  18. Ha, I doubt you'd wanna wait for me to build you some cabinets, I'm not even done with my own. No prob on the info. They are suppose to be some nice compression drivers. If that turns out to be the case I might replace my Dayton CDs in the suburban with a pair of these. :-O
  19. The driver is from DIY Sound Group, its their Denovo Audio DNA-360 compression driver. Nearly identical to the B&C DE-250 compression driver, the only differance is that one is made by B&C and the other by DIY Sound Group. Oh, and the price is different. Only 2 verys? Pff.
  20. I'm back with another update on my endless built. This time around I opted to add a little automotive style sound deadener to the back side of the waveguides for a little piece of mind. I started off by making a paper template of the area to be covered. With the template done I moved on to cutting the sound deadener. Guess what I did next. Yep, I puts the sound deadener on the waveguides. Here's a little before and after all in the same pic. With that out of the way I slapped the CD on the WG. Thanks for watching.
  21. Thanks. I'll get some more pics on the way soon. Ha ha, thanks man. I just need to find a little more time to getting this project done.
  22. Yes they are. But I am pretty sure Scott and Nick have something on the way. The Mayhem from AA and SP4's are also bonkers options too. Hey man, quit being stingy with the insider info and just spill the beans. Meow!
  23. Here I start tackling the crossovers. Not sure about what best practices really are for these things. I've heard here and there that it's best to place inductors as far apart and have the axis of them perpendicular to each other. Like all things audio there are compromises to be made, available space being one of them. Manufacturability (is that even a word?) being another. Since I am not constrained by either, here is what I came up with. I was able to snag some abs scraps from work as the foundation for my crossovers. Here I turn round scraps to nice rectangular boards. Not much to show off in the assembly of the crossovers but I will mention that I opted for a steampunk / old school vacuum tube amp style point to point soldering technique. Finished crossovers. The compression driver crossover. The woofer crossover. Tata for now, exit stage right.
  24. Thanks. Things are a little slow going with school for the little one just starting. :\ The end is near, I hope.
  25. It's a heavy cut for my weak ass router to begin with, secondly once the drop breaks loose, it's in Gods hands on whether or not it kisses the router bit and goes flying in your face. O_o
