  1. Bump to be seen.
  2. So I have noticed as of late a few members on here from PA. I live in the north east PA. Scranton/wilkesbarre are with in 30 mins of me. I was just wondering who is from PA and where are you located. Thanks Chad
  3. HaHa, Yeah it's not that bad 3/8" plexi and 3/4" wood. I just have never been a fan of Bandpass boxes. I hope I get some time here soon to make the proper enclosures. I have a custom MJ 18 on it's way as well. So I am going to have to make some ME time......lol here real soon. Chad
  4. Why would you put midbass in the rear doors? IMO they should be upfront with the midrange and highs. Chad
  5. Ok so this weekend I had just a little time. about a hour. Unfortunately the only enclosure I had laying around was a prefab bandpass box that a buddy left after I built his enclosure. with that being said. I placed it in the trunk of my Chrysler Concorde. I hooked up My phoenix gold tantrum 1200.1 to it @ 4 ohms. I started with the gains low and then adjusted it by ear. Even in this craptastic box it sounded great. I then played a variety of music, It was a little boomy for my taste I assumed it was the box. The output was great for a single 12. The lows shook the car like there was no tomorrow. The truck lid was flexing as well as the back window, steering wheel, center console, cup holder..etc..... ok so the banging and the output were great but the car is by no means set up for that. I remember M5 saying how good his performed on as little as 250 watts. I then unhooked the tantrum and installed a Eclipse XA 1000 once again wired to 4 ohms right around 300 watts. Wow was M5 right!! I was amazed at how well it blended with my front stage. Even in this craptastic enclosure. It hit every note and sounded great, the boom was gone and replaced with crisp clean notes. The bass was warm and and by no means lacking in output. It just wasn't shaking the car as before. So it will get very loud when needed while sounding decent. But it really shines in the SQ in a lowered power setup. I can't wait to have the time to build the proper enclosures both sealed as well as ported. I am sure it can only get better. I will update when I have the time to build the proper enclosures. Opinions are welcomed. Chad
  6. Phoenix Gold 1200.1, I know the tantrum series does 1400+ @ 2-4 ohms. Chad
  7. I think that would match up nicely. I may try this out in the Chrysler Concode. I just need some time now. Chad
  8. I love that car! I can't wait to see how this turns out. Chad
  9. If I run it on the 3000 it would more then likely be @ 4ohms 800 watts. I could try it @ 1ohm just to see overhead is good.....lol. However I would be very conservitive at that point. Chad
  10. I just got home from a 16hr day at work. This iwas delivered. first impression, good build quality, heavier than expected 29lbs, sharp looking cone and very stiff. So needless to say this put a smile on my face. Now I just need some time to make a few enclosures and test it out. I am thinking one 1ft^3 sealed and the other 2ft^3 30sq in of port tuned to 32-34hz. I will either run it off my SAZ 3000d @ 4ohms or a PG Tantrum 1200.1 @ 4ohms. Maybe this weekend I will have some time. Chad
  11. no, I did not know that. I was under the impression that being weighted it could work in either vertical or horizontal. Chad
  12. Very nice!! Chad
  13. In most cases I would agree, However in the newer dodges they have storage pockets under the driver and passenger sides but raise in the middle. The storage pockets are about 7" deep build that up 2" gives you a decent mounting detph for a sub on each side. In the middle it is only about 2" build that up the same only gives you around 4". this takes in to account leaving around 1" before hitting the bottom of the seat. I think 2 10's with a 18" PR would look bad@ss with the seat flipped up. Chad

Nice and clean, Big port big box single 8..........hmm T-line or folded horn. would love to hear it. Chad
  15. Ok now you got me thinking of a new Idea. So I have a few questions. are the PR only available in 18's? what is the mounting depth? This is why I ask. I know of allot of people that own extended cad or quad cab trucks. most want loud clean output with out giving up any space. I know with Dodge quad cabs you can fiberglass under the back seat and achieve a solid 2ft^3. with a PR as long as it's not to deep you could mount 2 10's and 1 PR. There for not giving up any seating area, achieving great output with a nice clean sound. the limitations would be that the PR could only have a depth of around 4" and a 18 would make it tight but not impossible. let me know what your opinions are. Chad
  16. I am sure I will. I think I am going to build 2 enclosures. 1 sealed @ 1ft^3 and the 2nd 2 ft^3 tuned to 33hz with around 30" sq of port. Chad
  17. so just to update this. as most of you know I got my SAZ 3000d and love it!!!! I also have a IXL 12 on it's way. Once I get to play with the 12, I will see if 4 10's are still what I am looking for or pos. get 3 more 12's. HAHA who knows I am also throwing around the idea of a blow through. I just want to try everything.......lol I can't wait for the IXL 12 to arrive. Chad
  18. quote] Find some bucket seats that match the color of the interior, can be from pretty much any make or model, and fab up some brackets to put buckets in. I had an S-10 Blazer, I put some Grand Am bucket seats in, modified the brackets to fit. They sat about 2-3" lower than the stock seats, and went back further too. I understand what your saying. But the main goal here is to keep to his budget. quote] Whatever sub you get, building an enclosure to spec is key. A $50 sub can sound very good in a well-built enclosure, while a $500 sub can sound like ass in an enclosure off-spec. This is far from my first build. I do however app. your suggestions. Chad
  19. He has a bench seat. however I like the Dcon but out of the budget $181.89 shipped. Chad
  20. once again amazing work. Chad
  21. quote] Your whole preface is fudgeED. You don't want an SQ sub setup at all, very, very, very far from it. If you do then you are ridiculously stupid in your amplifier choice as you won't need 10% of that power. HAHA., I have to say I have missed seeing these posts.
  22. very nice. now how about a MUG shot of the Xcon. Chad
  23. e-mail sent Chad
