  1. ... Obviously, you already said that.. I never said that or even acted like I assumed that if the baskets are same the subwoofer is the same.. Tons of subs share parts including baskets. but what makes the Evil better? thats the question Or even if its not better, how much different will they sound? and as far as goals go which ways do the SP4 and evil lean? I'm trying to decide which one would fit me best. Maybe I'm not getting that across Idk.
  2. Okay, explain? I am probably getting a new car soon (keeping the bronco) sometime this month so I am trying to decide which subwoofer to buy for it. so details would be great.
  3. I realize that SSA are built at the FI buildhouse, but what are the differences between these two subwoofers? The only differences I notice in a SP4 and Evil are the magnets which one is ufo style and one is the traditional stack style, then the SP4 has sandwhiched leads in the spiders. The specs are almost identical, a small change in the T/S parameters. Is the Evil basically the fully loaded SP4 with an extra 200 dollars added on top? Nothing agianst SSA or Fi either way, I just am interested in what makes the evil better to which that 200$ comes from.
  4. you'll love it Great SQ, but you can make em get pretty loud too.
  5. I'm diggin the electrical.
  6. Those dustcaps are amazing! Very cool man.
  7. Ahh I see, Makes sense! I'm just getting started on what I want to do, long road ahead of me Nice deal, wish I had that kind of luck, for example everyone here wants $200 for their old alpine type r 10 in a sealed box. >.> People think there stuff is made of gold I swear.
  8. Always found squares subs to be interesting, I like the fact that you can put them so close together and make it look like a solid wall of just sub.
  9. I'm looking forward to getting a dreadnought, Love the style of Zed amps, and the quality is a plus too Btw sweet A pillars!
  10. Looks good I'm sure the Xcon will be beast!
  11. You wont get that direct sound, if you point a driver almost at you and then point it at the ground, you can tell a difference. Different type of sound, its not super pronounced but it depends on what your looking for. If you want it to look really clean and hidden then Id say go that route, but I personally prefer the sub facing up/at you.
  12. Agreed, the new Incriminator 20.1 looks very nice also just to throw that in there, if you want to look at those brands.
  13. The Diehard gold in there is really old, but I am waiting to buy the 2 diehard platinums I'm planning on using a little later. I doubt It's working very hard, I'm barely pulling amps off of my system atm. Doesn't matter what you are equipment you are running. If your battery is shot it will kill your alt given enough time. Its not that bad it stays around 12.5 and overall my voltage goes a little above 13 with them both connected, and I seriously doubt it would do anything to the alt.. Edit: anyway I don't need anymore responses to this thread I found the issue, and know how to fix it. I just need time atm. Way to be a dick after we tried to help you. Thanks for the responses, Not trying to be a dick. :/ just no reason for the thread any longer, Everything is fine now. I was saying that so people don't speculate and waste there time since I found the short which is what was causing all the strange issues. For those who are not satisfied with that my plans for my upgrades are all clear in my head now. but I know my batteries are fine, my voltage barely drops even without the car on. I plan on replacing the diehard gold anyway just to be sure.

  16. Found the issue I think... There was some random old wire jammed up by the alt shorting out on the block and alt. I have no idea how it didn't do more damage, the wire was burnt to hell though. Hopefully all my electronics are ok including the alt.. My question is how did the fuse not blow earlier..
  17. Well I just moved my second battery to my center console, and ever since then my bass has been harsh sounding. Has a different tone to it, I guess that it is a symptom of the new alt and change in battery location. I'm about to recheck connections right now.
  18. I realize its hot in the engine bay, but my old alternator just got warm not HOT. The 13.3 was from the posts of the alternator itself. rechecked while revving it up a lot higher (3000rpms), and it went all the way up to 14.2 and there was a pop and one of my fuses blew... so all of that seems odd considering those fuses are rated 275a @ 32volts. I'm going to mess around with it a bit, and try a different ground replace the fuse, see what happens.
  19. The entire alt is hot. Also I actually just checked voltage and I'm only getting 13.3 from it Wtf. It was working fine when I first hooked it up.
  20. My mechman 260 is getting blazingly hot, is this normal? Thinking its a ground issue, I have it attached to a battery which is attached to the motor. Any ideas?
  21. Forgot these pictures
  22. One of relays/isolators comes stock, and its to trigger the starter I believe. The other one is so the Kinetik and diehard are not always connected, They are too different for me to feel comfortable having them together at all times. The center console because I wanted it hidden but to be closer to the amp, because I was losing 2volts from the front to the amp. I plan on putting a pair of Diehard platinums in the front, which they will always be connected to eachother. Then 2 Kinetiks which will be run together by the amps. So this temporary change will set up for that basically.
  23. Very complex build, Definitely be interesting to hear in person. Thanks for sharing.
  24. Thought it was gonna be a demo :/ oh well, nice vehicle, nice sound system!
