  1. doesnt that surpass my to-be-determined budget lol haha yeah most likely man lol. CHeck the vids on the forum somebody, I dont recall who, hit like a 160 and 30hz behind the c pillar with 48 sa-10s. But on a more serious note, I didnt realize you already had that much equipment. I wish it was as easy as to come on the forum ask how something is done than do it. Unfortunately, it isnt and you might have to resort to the testing that you are trying to avoid. Like i said, unless you have an epiphany about a certain install you should do, you are probably goin to have to test several and see what installs yield the highest scores. right on. I think ill jsut drop the other alt in and be happy. really, I only have two big AGMs and one small, and will have two alts.... it's not made to burp its made to cruise and be somewhat loud and low. If I got 6 more batteries Im sure it would have done better, I have no reserve for 16000 RMS 147.7 23Hz 147.9 24Hz 148.2 25Hz and 26Hz floor 147.7 23Hz hair trick unintentional put on 148.2 fast forward to 2:50 (notice only the low note is loud, I purposely had the LP set to 31Hz as I only wanted the low note) 132.5 15Hz 136.7 17Hz 140.3 18Hz 142.5 19Hz 143.8 20Hz 144.9 21Hz 145.7 22Hz

  3. I currently have four AP30001Ds, an Iraggi 220A alt, EA 300A alt, two 100aH AGMs, and one factory sized AGM. I am waiting on BLADE ICE to finish my brackets to mount the 300A EA alt. $10,000 not including the vehicle for 150s?!?!?!?! for real?!?!?!?!?! I only need it 150dB around 20Hz-29Hz, above that doesnt matter
  4. yes they are, originally I had 110 cubic feet but despite the roof and side panels being extremely ridgid, they tried to tear apart from eachother so i had to build the rear wall bringing me down to about 55 cubic feet and 22Hz tune
  5. Any updates? I'm anxious for some good weather so I can get some subs reinstalled
  6. It's OK, I really am an ass, better to jus sound like one I was vague to be clear, thought my point was simple : cheapest way to get 150dB @ 25Hz At least tell us what car, what electrical upgrades you're planning...? Box, wall ? It's not magic !!! Give more info so people can try to help you. Good luck. Let me try this again: To get 150dB @ 25Hz, what car should I get? What do i need for electric? What sort of box should I build? Should I wall it? I dont have any magic, if I SELL the van and START FROM SCRATCH and have the SAME BUDGET (calculating now, get back to you ASAP) what should I get? Thanks for the luck, I know I need it. Sorry to be facetious.

  8. +1 +1 +1 YES, I am "noob", did I come to the right place? I thought if you knew it all you didnt come here, you went to competes and threw up numbers. If you dont know, then you come here and ask you guys?
  9. ugh: then I'd be a normal competator, change this, mod that LOL
  10. How much would you guesstimate his build to cost? I thought I could pull it off with my four 18's and 16,000 RMS as long as I gave them 55+ cubic feet... I got a 148.2dB. I am ashamed. At least I tried
  11. I am no competator or pro, I am admitting I failed and I was wrong with my build. so I am here
  12. ah compression. well no one around here knows anything about audio, no one really cares as long as it is loud and cheap, I could get away with a pair of IB3 18s shipped for $400 but I just couldnt do that. Theyd love it, playing the same songs that peak out over and over..but I couldnt in good concience just to get rid of it.
  13. What is the cheapest route to get 150dB at 25Hz? Two hardcore 15's and two SAZ amps, one HO alt and 10 batteries? Small vehicle walled or CRX subs up port back? How much would it all cost? Fiberglass, MDF, 2x4's, all thread, sound deadener, decent looking/running vehicle.
  14. figured Id take a loss on it. When I played with the IB3s in it, they were terribly peaky, but extremely loud. No audible port noise off 3400 watts.
  15. I built a 10cu ft box last year with a 12" port 17" long two free ends for a 35Hz tune last year for a guy. He never paid up. He was planning on two Fi BTL 18's and an AP30001D. What is the cheapest sub that would perform decent in it? People around here either don't have money and want me to find them stolen gear for dirt cheap, or they waste it at the local shops and get crap for eighteeen times their value. When summer comes I'll get people beating down my door, I need to sell this box, whats the cheapest subs I can drop in there yet still get decent performance with a cheap 1000 watt amp? Mind you none of these people will have $$$ to get a solid 2kw-3kw amp, nor BTLs or anything else good. These people want two 12" rip-offs for under $50 with an amp and box. I modeled the BTL, Q, SSD, and IB3 for shits...doesnt have to be Fi. SSD and Q look ok I guess, nothing I'd or any of us would want.
  16. vid of the setup
  17. no I havent, id love to clamp them. They don't even use more than 1/4 their excursion most of the time. I've got two Kicker KX850.4's, 1 Extremis per 2 channels bridged 4 ohm. I can easily take them up click by click until the amps clip. I have 0 gauge wire, short runs... the amps are mounted directly above the batteries, no more than 1.5' per wire. Being conservative lets cut that number in 1/2.... I'd bet the speakers and amps that theyre at least getting 212 watts RMS each. The FR125's were being run off a KX350.4 bridged... I think it was rated 120 or 130 RMS bridged 8 ohms... when I pushed them hard the phase plugs would get pretty warm, so i upgraded to a KX650.4 and now the plugs stay cold no matter how loud I have them. The SX500.2 I have pushing four Vifa XT25TG30 1" ring radiator tweets, 2X2ohm parallel... gets pretty warm when I really rip on them too. I had a KX200.2 on them before and it just couldn't push them loud enough to keep up with the rest. So here's the setup: Alpine IVA-W505 dvd player that controls the crossover via Ai-NET (pretty pissed off that they stopped putting the optical out on the W505, dropped $$$ on a fiber optic cable for nothing and I have a terrible sound floor running audio through the Ai-NET) PXA-H701 all my slopes are set to 30dB/oct.... I know, should go 24dB but I like it steeper Four Vifa XT25TG30's off a Kicker SX500.2 with it's HP set at 13.7kHz 36dB/octave... after the PXA already crosses them at 14kHz 30dB/oct... I know, the tweets are crossed WAY too high and basically at 66dB/oct... thats how I like it...my speakers are in my ceiling, this thing wasn't built for comp... SPL or SQ 2 CSS FR125S 4.5" fulll rangers, XBL^2, off a KX650.4 covering 710Hz-14k. They could be crossed at 16k but they lose a lot of steam after 14 and thats where I like the tweets anyway. Four Adire Audio Extremis 6.4s off two KX850.4's 80Hz-710Hz Four IB3 18's off four Audiopipe AP30001Ds 10Hz-80Hz. I only have one Iraggi HO alt 200A @ idle 220A peak installed right now and I killed it trying to push the subs so I had them set to 31Hz LP to take a ton of strain of the amps and alt. As soon as I get the 2nd alt in, Excessiveamperage 200+A @ idle 300A peak put in, Ill bring it back up to 80Hz.
  18. Does that cover 01' Chevy Astro van with 4.3 V6 as well?
  19. Does that fall under the may fit 01' Astro 4.3 V6 but not advertised until you see one bolt on?
  20. A really nice kid that comes to my town once in a while to check out my van build has a school dance coming up and wants to borrow one of my EP4000s to run off his old receiver that has no crossover. He's running a car audio sub, I think it's a 15" Shocker Sig I'll make sure tomorrow, probably in a car audio box built to spec, going to guess 4-6 cubes tuned around 33Hz...I'll verify that as well. I trust the guy and he's really cool, but I don't ever move my amps...I dont ever fiddle with them...I dont want anything happening to them. My girlfriend, her son, and I use the stereo round the clock. I'd really like to come up with a VERY cheap alternative if possible and try to talk him into it. I'd like to think there's good used equip for a rasonable price, and I'd guess anything over 1000 watts would be overkill though it's probably a "high powered SPL/daily ground pounder" sub. A LP crossover and HP would be preffered, but I don't have/run a HP on mine and I use my receivers LFE LP, he plans on either finding his own LP or running without as his old receiver doesnt have a crossover. Any suggestions? Dance is at the beginning of february so something attainable within a couple weeks. Thanks for any help guys!
  21. I was told no more polymids, only carbon I have 1700 watts going to four Extremis 6.4's and they want MORE.. 80Hz-710Hz. Once in a while I drop them down to 34Hz but turn them down quite a bit :-P
  22. I dont have the originals but I'll email my photobucket links. 1/2 the time they dont work in emails so I'll post as well in case it helps anyone else.
  23. Well congrats on your new born! Glad to hear it. Its cold here so as long as you havent forgotten me, take all the time you need!
  24. I wish the Exodus Anarchy was available in 4ohm. My Extremis take an insane amount of power and still want more. I usually have them 80Hz-710Hz 36dB/oct but sometimes for fun I'll go down as far as 28Hz. The Extremis, SDX7, and poly mid are all pretty similar... never got to hear the Mpyer though. Ive never gotten to hear anything split coil like the carbons or XXX.
