  1. So in that case there's no real need for more than 2 channels?
  2. new understanding...the crossover allows the tweeters to be run on the same channel as the speakers right? so then you could just wire them the same as the 2 ways correct? Correct. Bingo! so every speaker gets its own channel for either 2 way or component set up? does a lot of music take advantage of a 4 channel set up?-ive never heard one so i dont really know

  4. I'm really on the fence about this one. Don't really understand all the possibilities or what u can do with both style amps. Currently only have 4 2 way speakers and no amp and I'm not really sure if I'll ever be switching over to components. If I don't ever make the switch..is there any difference between a 2 and 4 channel on just 2 ways? Correct me if I'm wrong but if I have a 4 channel with components I can connect the tweeters to 2 channels then the mids and highs to the other 2? I'm eyeing the fosgate t400.2 and .4 there's only like a 15$ diff between them but the .4 is out of stock and I don't really wanna wait.. :/

im runnin only about 1k to my 15 and it sounds amazing. dont think it has to do with power either
  7. if i just have the 51r in the front i wont need the charger right? that only applies when u have multiple batteries?
  8. i never push my system when the car is off...no way. i looked at one of the posts the guy from xs made and he said that looking at cca's and ah is kinda pointless, and doesnt directly relate to car audio (but with these numbers the 34 does crush the 51). thats why they put the watt rating on them (dont really see how they could figure that works but not the other numbers...but lets go with that) and between the 51 and 34 is only a 200w difference, wich isnt all that much i dont think anyways. this is why im confused about all this
  9. not a big enough difference with the 51 nd 3400 to worry about it?
  10. i know alot of people on here run a 3400 in the front and a 3100 in the back. im in a honda so standard size is a 51r. i wanna get an xs for the front (for now anyways) and i like to think ahead. is there a big difference between the 51 and the 3400. id have to do some customizing to get the 3400 to fit but id rather not if i dont have too. if i run a 51 in the front and a 3400/3100 in the back eventualy is the back one gunna drain the front? im probably only gonna have 2-2.5k and might soon be upgrading to a 190A alt

If he can get the R's they are a better speaker. on the website it doesnt show that they have type Rs. is there a reall noticable difference between the R and S?

I could switch for whatever I want but I'd have to pay the difference. I got a 80$ credit for the speakers (that's what I paid for them) so I could put that towards anything I want. Thing is...is there really anything there worth spending money on?
  13. i like

I'm still a little confuzed on 2/4 channel amps...if I get a 2 channel and down the road wanna upgrade to components then I could still use a 2 channel?
  17. 1two3 replied to 1two3's topic in General Audio
They would be great, cuz from what I hear I wouldn't have to do anything to the door for them to fit. The jbls were in on only 2 screws. Would the last long on an amp? With the proper rms?

Kinda in a dellema ATM. So my 2 front speakers blew the other day (jbl got 628's 2-ways) so I put the factory ones back in until I figure out what to do. Thing is I got em from best buy and they no longer carry any car audio (in Canada anyways) so they sent me to future shop for a replacement (I bought a warranty so I get a free swap). Annddd future shop doesn't carry those speakers butt they can swap them for something else. So I'm not really sure what to do. Im kinda on the fence on switching to components (leaning more to the I don't wanna side) and am going to buy a 4 channel amp soon. If I was to swap them: http://m.futureshop.ca/defaultpage.aspx?lang=en#/catalog/productdetails.aspx?ajax=true&sku=10167593〈=en-CA So my question is..is it worth swapping them for the alpines and just be done with it or should I just take a gift card instead and buy something better on sonicelectronix?
