  1. by end of the vent do you mean were the port begins/ends INSIDE the box or the opening visible from outside? im asuming inside i just want to be sure though
  2. Haven't had a sound system all winter and I'm ichin to get back into the game. I'm gonna be picking up my 10" d2ohm XCON pretty soon and since I haven't done a 10" build yet I was lookin for some ideas/pics/thoughts and or some nice build logs featuring a ported 10. I think imma do sub and port up leaning towards sq. Supper pumped to be back....its been too long
  3. Considering it would be much much cheaper if I just bought a complete set in leaning towards that now. I will be looking at local deals at big box stores and audio video stores alike. What are some good trustee names to look for? .... I've heard good things about klipsch and onkyo. If this is true are all of their product lines good or are there some to avoid? Also if I buy a 5.1 surround system is it possible to run it as a 2.1?
  4. Very interesting perspective, never thought of it that way and what your saying does make sense. My sources are gonna be my ps3 (movies and games) my laptop, and iPod, and TV (cable or intena) I found an old jbl sub in my basement that I might be able to use, I can find more info/pictures latter on
  5. Hahah I appreciate your honesty. What am I looking for that could be better? I don't see the need for more HDMI inputs and what not.....am I looking for build quality? Just asking I what makes that one such a poor option
  6. Since I'm in canada, the sales are still gonna be a bit better on your side of the border. This will serve as a home theater as well so I'd like a half decent receiver. How bout this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882121081
  7. Cool thanks and Yea I got enough would and glue to make the boxes. My budget is only consisting of hardware I will be buying on line (speakers, receiver ext)
  8. thanks for your input. ive heard lots of good things about klipsch. im more looking into building the enclosures myself though. oh and im having trouble opening those links you posted
  9. would that be for the speakers or the crossovers? and how come?
  10. If u had a bit bigger budget what would u get?
  11. I'm looking for a subwoofer and speakers to use in a 2.1 bedroom home theater/listening set up. I have in mind Using a 150-300w (Was looking at the bash 300w plate amp but not sure about if I like the auto on/off) plate or regular amp (up for debate). Info: http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?partnumber=300-750 As far as subwoofer goes, I had in mind using a 10" in a T-line specifically the soundqubed SDC 2.0. mainly because I think they look awesome, there cheap, and wouldn't mind throwing it in my car one day. Im looking for a flat responce and something that sounds good. Also up for debate. Info on amp: (10" isn't showing but here's the 8")http://www.soundqubed.com/NEW-Street-Duty-SDC20-8-D4-Subwoofer_p_69.html I have no idea which or how many speakers to use for the two towers. Aaron had some towers built (still didn't update us on how they sound nudge nudge). I could use those if anything. Thread: http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/59524-21-bedroom-setup/ Receiver. No preference or idea about which one to use. Also don't know if this provides enough power to run the speakers off just the receiver. I'd like to keep everything around 500$. Plan on buying everything on black Friday. And I'd like to to sound good with decent output and low end extension down to the low 20hz. Thanks guys any info is helpful
  12. SSA does NOT let u down ESPECIALY with the XCON!! Welcome!
  13. 1two3 replied to ncc74656's topic in Fi Technical
u may be better off with just one ported in a really nice encloser do what he ^ said first though, smarter people than i will chime in
  14. u sould ask better questions. what are your goals, music preferences, electrical ect...
  15. i always always always learn something new every time u type a reply in that keyboard of yours impious.. thanks for that
  16. really nice work if i do say so myself
  17. Updates???
  18. thank you! it corrected itself to .419 i tried that before but it didnt work, but this time i hit tab and i guess that did it
  19. sub in question here is a xcon 15 this is my first time using this or any sub enclosure design software when i put in the qts, qms and qes parameters this is what happens: Help a noob out!
  20. I would definately switch that around and put the AGM in back and the acid upfront. Its not safe to have a lead acid battery inside the vehicle. This x2. Perhaps another batterie/s if money is tight. Used.
  21. Doesn't really matter as long as u keep them agm
  22. I aksed one of the guys at xs power the same question and he told me that honestly there's no "true" rating that will define how good it is for audio. That being said many guys go by amp hours. Quality of the materials inside the battery make a difference as well. You get what u pay for. The bigger the numbers the better.
  23. the human ear (depending on the person) can only hear down to 20-5ish hertz. music rarely plays below 28-30. it really doesnt matter tho, turn that puppy all the way down and volume knob all the way up!
  24. Thanks guys. also will be hooking up computer fans to this to cool down the amps. im curious to see who has had what experience with what products/combinations to hook theirs up.
