  1. Looks great. But you know this exists on all the rides pages, right? I'm aware, i'll fix it when I have more time. Thanks for being incredibly anal about everything. Hey, I resemble that remark. I'm surprised you don't use a templating system for your sites. It would obviously be much simpler to do the fix in one place. Maintaining countless individual static html pages is a time suck, that's for sure.
  2. Don't forget the excellent service and support you get from Jacob at Sundown. This can't be overstated.

  4. Here's a new design, basically taking your design and stretching it to fit the gasket. It fires upwards now, which was really the only way to use the gasket and keep the cargo cover in place. I'll still need to slide back the cover when it's in use. 31hz / 28sq" of port (2" port width) / 2.33 cubes single slot port Bottom: 30 x 15.75 Top (2): 27.25 x 14.25 Left Face: 14.25 x 14.25 Right Face: 14.25 x 12.75 Back: 30 x 15 Front: 30 x 15 Port wall 1: 14.25 x 10 Port wall 2: 14.25 x 13.75
  5. Thanks. The page is up-to-date now, but it still suffers from bad html. I've resent my prior email to you with a basic fix. I hope that you'll reconsider testing for Firefox as you're ignoring a very large chunk of your viewership, including all Mac and UNIX/Linux users. Anything less is doing a disservice to Jacob. Here is a screenshot of the list bullet problem: Also, when I click on the images they open a blank page. Looks like a problem with your copy, they're showing as 0 bytes to me. The pictures were fine when I uploaded them to Flickr.
  6. On second thought, I'm having a tough time working a double baffle into these calculations. The rubber gasket is almost 12.75, which easily exceeds these dimensions. I've tried reworking the design but inevitably hit space constraints or the port length is unwieldy. A little more information... I'd like the height of the box to compensate for the cargo cover (16" off the floor) and mounting the SAZ-1500D on the box somewhere. Even without taking the amp into account, the height of the box + amp will exceed 16". I thought about mounting the sub on top with a wide slot port facing the rear (with the amp mounted above the port), but the numbers just don't work out. I'm still playing with the numbers and sketchup, any other ideas are welcome.
  7. Not quite, I sent you pics and a new video on Monday. I also sent you an HTML fix; all of the pages render with list bullets in the middle of the text (FF3).
  8. Do you have any mock-ups of the end panel?
  9. It certainly helped in my situation. I put 0.5lb in my 1-cube sealed enclosure and it made a huge difference in output.
  10. I'm thinking about replacing my two-way components with a DIY three-way front stage. I'd purchased a set of Seas CA18RLY 6.5" woofers and 27TAFNC/G tweeters last year, but the mids are too deep for the stock door locations. I ended up going with JBL P650c components which sound good, but I've always wanted to try something better. The plan would be to put 4.5" mids in the door panel, and put the 6.5" woofers and tweeters in the kick panel. I have a SAX-100.4 and SAX-100.2, so I should be fine with amplification. Any suggestions on 4.5-5" mids that will complement the other pieces but still comes in a shallow depth (<= 70mm)?
  11. Because I already own them.
  12. I sent you some brand new pics and a video this afternoon. Wakey wakey!
  13. LOL, took me a while to get the joke. Yeah, a 1500D on any 8's is overkill, even a pair of RL-i8's. I've got the gain dialed down to safe levels. It's either this or a bridged SAX-100.2, but less more is more.
  14. Just under 1 cube with displacement.
  15. Added this to my build log with a bunch of pics, but I thought the SoundSplinter fans need some fresh posts in here. eM28sy7Gj-8
  16. New pics and video. I've gone back to the Pioneer DEH-P5900IB receiver after wrestling with the lack of good EQ features in the Alpine IDA-X001. I've also finished running the 1/0 to the Sundown Audio SAZ-1500D, and have rerouted the 4-gauge directly to the SAX-100.4 powering the front stage. Although the sealed box doesn't have the "rattle power" of the T-Box, the sound is excellent and the excursion is sick. See for yourself... A nice day in Maryland... Hidden booty within! New YellowTop Went back to the DEH-P5900IB HU. Shots of the Sundown Audio SAX-100.4 hiding under the driver's seat... The JBL P650c components up front. The money shots, including the EQL hiding on the left (to be mounted)... And a new video! eM28sy7Gj-8
  17. Aaron, this looks great. I'm picking up the materials today and I'll post pics in the 4Runner build log. Thanks!
  18. Specs and video sent. Taking new pics tomorrow.
  19. It was linked above, but I'll mention it here too. I also meant to include the specs. Here we go: TC-Sounds DVC2 EPIC 12" subwoofer Le: 2.49 mH Re: 4.2 ohms (coils wired in series) Frequency range: 21-500 Hz Fs: 21 Hz SPL: 89.3 dB 2.83 V/1m Vas: 4.66 cu. ft. Qms: 4.25 Qes: 0.41 Qts: 0.38 Xmax: 22 mm Overall diameter: 12-5/8" Cutout diameter: 11-1/16" Mounting depth: 6-1/4"
  20. I purchased this sub on closeout from Parts Express earlier this year when TC-Sounds was filing for bankruptcy. My daily enclosure is a sealed pair of RL-i8's. I'd like to build a ported box for this single TC-Sounds 12" sub but I'm a complete noob when it comes to enclosure design. My typical listening style is loud SQ; typical artists include Smashing Pumpkins, NiN, and Daft Punk. Any suggestions? This is just for fun, so feel free to be creative.
  21. Oh yeah, duh. I'd definitely go with Sundown but I know how it is when you have to buy piecemeal. Good luck and post some pics as it moves forward.
  22. Sounds like a good shopping list. What about your amp(s)?
  23. Mike, any of the RL-i12's still available? Any discounts? Thanks, -fp
  24. I never enjoyed beer growing up. My college years usually found me with a bottle of Southern Comfort in one hand and a 2-liter of Dr. Pepper in the other. A few years ago I had my first Guinness on tap and I've never looked back. -fp
