  2. 450 watts IB is not needed for these since the rms power handling is rated 300 watts rms in an enclosure
  3. whats the need?
  4. ok cool...thanks
  5. Fi is pretty slow for responding to emails...I emailed you guys last week So far....no response
  6. IIRC pete(hexibase) gave his pair of rli 8s about 3000 watts rms to the pair without trouble
  7. well I emailed fi about some recones. hopefully they'll respond soon.
  8. Hey I tried doing a search...I kept getting an error anyone know the specs on a TC7 motor?? I am probably going to buy one because of a good deal on it. What size coil does it fit?? Will a standard 12 spoke basket fit it???
  9. what he means by lower playing means lower frequency extension
  10. I'm working on my own full range project using either the Pioneer BOFU for lower priced build or a couple fostex 6.5 inch drivers.
  11. at the shop I used to work at we had even 0000 gauge welding cable and it was even pretty flexible. I guess you've just had bad experiences with poor quality cable
  12. how is your gain set?? boost??
  13. I use copper lugs from Lowes for my big three...after a year there are no problems...look exactly the same as last year...except dirtier
  14. aznboi3644 replied to michael's topic in Fi Technical
I have an old school 12w6 dual 6 ohm sub right now...sound quality is awesome. IMO it isn't worth reconing...theres no point to recone these. The new W6s rape these old school ones...I still love mine though
  15. I have one of the Elemental Designs SQ10's. Sounds excellent and decently loud too for such a shallow sub.
  16. lol the box requirements for these subs are probably bigger than pretty much most vehicles...maybe a full size van for a school bus. In an average size car or suv these will probably sound like complete crap
  17. is the amp clipping and thats whats the noise is?
  18. likewise on the 12s a friend of mine just got a 2000 explorer and wants some subs...some Fi X 12's should fit the bill nicely...only if there are some left
  19. Elemental Designs in where I think he got the idea http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/08/element...-your-universe/ http://www.icixsound.com/vb/showthread.php...light=dodecasub http://www.icixsound.com/vb/showthread.php...light=dodecasub
  20. Here's my old school 12W6
  21. I used to have two 15L7s ported in the back of my explorer....they were loud as fawk. They are tough subs...people blow them up cuz of user error like JimJ said. Kicker wouldn't hold some world records if their crap broke all the time.
  22. for the angles...some algebra is all you need I remember doing those n-gon angle stuff in 8th grade...shouldn't be too hard
  23. petey...what was your highest score last year with those 6.25's???
