Get the Zed. The SQ will more than make up the SMALL shortcoming in power compared to your other choices. I am currently running a Kronos and this amp has much better control than my previous set ups. I just purchased a RA and will be ordering a Minotaur for my other car. Love these amps!

It would be a nice option, like you said most amps have a subsoinc but not all, like if I wanted to use my 2300f for sub duty I would be SOL. True.... Perhaps this has more to do with the direction of amps nowadays. That would be a nice amp, but how many people are really gonna run a big old school A/B amp for sub duty? Could the RA benefit from a SSF? Sure, but it's a redundant feature for most amps. Not trying to be argumentative. I am anxious to get my hands on one.

Not sure the RA would need a subsonic filter since most sound processors and or sub amps have them. In any case the RA sounds like an awesome piece of equipment and am looking forward to this.

Still salivating over this. Can't wait for updates!

Aaron-- I completely understand. Of course you know you are going to get some bitching. I am extremely happy with the Leviathan and Kronos ( a little bummed that I have been one upped-- can't lie ). I would ban all sales to anything with gills.

Thanx man. I actually ran out of room in the rear storage area, so I had to come up with a new box for the processor, center channel amp and rear passives. The floor A/C vent feeds the back of the box which is open and the fan at the front pulls air. All the pieces stay very cool. I will get pix of the Zeds in the rear storage compartment all wired up.

Hey guys.... Been a while since I have been here. Glad to be back. My progress has been slow due to work and procrastination ( and a little too much reading ). I will post more pics up as I have made more progress than my Flikr account shows. I will be starting work on the A-Pillars and Center channel shortly. Guys I run the AX line in my second car. I have the 600de pushing an IDMAX12D2 and it is very strong. Great amp with small footprint. Don't count it out because, it doesn't kick out 1.21 Gigawatts. I have also run the AXTU4360 for highs and midbass. I believe that the AXTU600C is a 2 channel amp though-- an excellent choice for midbass duty. I did feel like the highs were a little harsh on these amps though. When I used the AXTU4360 for midbass duty I was really happy. The best price I could find on the TU600 was $599, so this is a steal.

read up on their page and you will see that his amps are geared for essque. The Kronos is a very capable amp, but it is not designed to be used below 4 ohms mono. If you are looking for 1.21 gigiwatts at 1 ohm then perhaps Zed is not for you.

WIth the exception of a few over at DIYMA I have not heard anything negative-- is it safe to say that this is typical of a few guys over there?

I have yet to fire up my leviathan and am waiting on the 2nd group buy for my kronos. I will be starting an install in the next two months. For those of you that have spent time listening to either amp-- what are your thoughts? Over at DIYMA there is still some that claim they don't like it because, it is class D. Stating there is " artifact " around the 2 khz range-- what do you make of that?

The price was on the cheaper side because I didn't want to mess around trying to sell them for another month, ultimately if I hadn't wanted to sell them as quick I still wouldn't have had them for much more then $500 each. I don't understand people who try to sell a second hand product for not much less then a new one, so I do tend to sell my stuff at a fairly reasonable price. The DR's are coming out as they have noise issue's and the local repair guy refuses to touch them, so I'll put them aside for now and when I have the time and cash laying around (having a 7 week old in the house isn't leaving me with much spare cash) i'll find someone willing to repair them. The only amp in the car will be a single Leviathan hopefully, down the track I may consider a Kronos for the sub if I think it's necessary. I'll be losing a bit of power but not enough to be audible, so why mess with 3-4amps when one will do what I need, and due to the greatly reduced load on my electrical system, the amp should actually be capable of better dynamic ability at high volume due to a much more stable voltage. I am in the very same boat and that is exactly the conclusion i came to.

sorry to dig this up, but since i am trying to find more from guys that have actually used the amp i landed here. it's definitely an A/B amp and it is supposed to have a beefier Cap bank for strong bass. back in the day i had an old Sony XM5520 that was pretty strong on the lows and i was told they had beefier caps. has anybody here run one? thoughts? they are popping up everywhere and there are some decent deals on them. i am just curious if people shy away from this amp for sub duty because, it is an A/B amp and most people are running D. i am looking at adding another US Amps AX series for mids/highs active or going another direction alltogether- Audison LRX. Z
