SSA xcon 10 tuning
I would lower the SSF to 28hz, and raise your LP to 100-125.

doing 3 18's in a wall, decided to go big, amp suggestions
When I was selling my XCON 10 I drove an hour and a half to meet a guy and he wouldn't buy my d2 because it read 1.4ish. He said that his amp was only one ohm stable and .7 was too low. Needless to say I was very irritated on the drive home.

Gain setting "dilema" - Drop some knowledge on me
I have always used my ears and eyes to set my amp. DD1 = a paper weight with LEDs, and if you need a paper weight there are still better options.

sound processor?
Here, of course.

Sundown : Reference SQ Component Set
Interesting, what are the dimensions of the tweeter?
-
sound processor?
It will take a lot of research and work to run active. If you are willing to do the work active is a good option, if not get a component set.
-
H/O alternator or 2nd battery.
Why are you going to run a component set and pa speakers?
-
sound processor?
You will probably be better off using the passive crossovers that come with them. If you want to go active you don't have to buy a component set.

Component sets
I'm not saying that the Ia's aren't nice, but with a 600 dollar budget I am sure that he can do better.
