- Which wood should I use?
neither, bracing inside takes up volume, you have to calulate that into the box design- Which wood should I use?
bracing will help, but it will change your internal air space some..- Best Birthday in a long time!!
well if it goes into the sled and moves the RL-p out, I want to gain some trunk space back. So that way I can build a true amp rack, and not the chaos that Dave saw the other day. The box will have to be very shallow and can be tall, but just does not sound like a TL will fit in there where I need it. I will do some more looking around. My other worry is that this car's install was for the SQ factor, as it is, with the bass trap of a trunk I have, the 12" tripple slug RL-p with 3/4 gain from the Orion 8002 is blending very nicely, but the output is not as much as I want it to be. So I wonder will the smaller lower power RL-i have enough output?????- uh oh
holy schnikes, Casey is that considered a true monoblock amp?- Which wood should I use?
3/4" should be fine, but it would not hurt to add a second layer on the face of the enclosure where the subs are.- project Z3
goes to show that you never know what your going to find- aaarrrrgggghhhhhh!
my RL-p loves 2 cubes at 27hz, blends really well and response is very smooth but output is not crazy loud.- Team SSAudio T shirt pre order
Money is off to dalicifer!- Hey... You guys
- Best Birthday in a long time!!
I want to talk to HotCarl about his design on his RL-i that was shaking the crap out of his car with 600+ watts. I was talking to Dave this weekend and I am pondering about grabbing a second one and pulling the RL-p out of the 300 and putting a pair of RL-i's into the car. Would get back some of my trunk and could built a long shallow box to push the drivers towards the back against the front wall of the trunk.- Horns
I have not owned horns but I have helped install a few. I have to mention they can be a monster to EQ out. Some cars seem to do fine with them and a few others I have seen just have a peak in the 1.6Kmhz area. If they are done right they can be stupid loud and very clear. There was an install a few years ago I really liked that was actually using normal soft dome tweets, horns, and mid -bass. It really had the high highs that seemed to be lacking in a few of the other horn installs I have heard.- which amp should i get?
I knwo its just he already bought the Orion- which battery and how many?
The SVR 80 in my car has been a great battery, I feel a pair of them would be the best value, I have talked to SVR on the phone a few times and the 80 is the best for street purposes, if you just competiting then go with the 77 or the 100. The Kinetiks are monsters but I have not owned them yet to give an opinion.- project Z3
what kind of interesting things? if this has already been covered in another thread then ignore this post PM dave if you want to know, hehe the most PITA part of the Z3 was running the wires under the center console. I have to say I am very curious to hear the Dayton 10, great looking sub and very well built.Account
