That is a question for ZED directly to answer as the RA is spanking new, and I have not had my hands on it yet. But I know it does not restore/insert anything into the signal path, at least that is how it was explained a while ago when it was in the development process. A few years back PG had the BASSCube, and it was a processor, not like the Epicenter.

RA is a dedicated sub woofer control preamplifier. It interfaces between the signal source and the amplifier. There are four circuit blocks within RA, the low pass crossover, the sub-harmonic synthesizer, the compressor and the final gain stage. Stereo input to mono output 24dB per octave Linkwitz Riley Low Pass crossover. Twin band Sub-Harmonic Synthesizer. Variable threshold compressor "tightens up the bass" and prevents amplifier clipping. 12dB (x4) final gain stage with master volume control. Internal switchmode power supply assures 100% galvanic ground isolation. Tiffany RCA's with Teflon inserts are used for ultimate quality and reliability. Made in the USA

Nope been looking too. Wondering how well it would work with the ZED Minotaur. It works with any amplifier, not just ZED amps. I am surprised to see an "epicenter like" by ZED. That just does not fit the ZED profile. An epicenter added distortion, ZED will not produce something that adds distortion.

I know, it is killing me.

So is setting the gain properly a problem?

Once we have final pricing and Nick gives us the go ahead, we will put them up. This will be great as they will fill the void about to be left by Bravox.

I am pretty upfront about everything, as with most every aspect of my life, if there is someone else substantially better at or with superior knowledge and expertise, I will go to them and learn from them. There is a good deal of work on both sides of the equation, and numerous meetings (both in person and over the phone) when working together on a new model. Mark and I don't pretend to be all knowing in the world of driver design, but we know our drivers.

Where is this??? lol .... Bromo give me longitude and latitude pwease!!! Marks in NY and Aarons in MD. I just find it amusing that people are saying their willing to drive 3 hours, sure i'd love that but 3-4 hours and I'm barely out of the state like most people. Mark is way up in NY state, and I don't necessarily have the best schedule. I could make a minor trip with in a couple of hours, but for now that is about maximum for me. As I am renting my house out, I don't have a good place to host a meet at this time.

Someone mentioned the fact of different styles of running a brand. Much of how we do things is based largely on the size of our brand. We are not moving thousands or even hundreds of sub woofers, not even close. We are a boutique brand, in that our drivers are built to order here in the USA. In product development, we are pretty slow, and spend more time with the design/prototypes before releasing them then most. This is because we built for long life cycles of our products. The Icon has been holding strong for a long time with only subtle changes and updates since 2007. It is now going through its first major design change.
