No experience with the new Soundstreams. I think serfugi has.

My experience with Optima products has been good. But I personally prefer XS, Stinger and SVR. I had a few SVR's over the years and they were pretty sturdy. A number of people love Deka's for the value.

I hope we (SSA), when I try to explain why we change things it makes sense to people and is objective and simple enough. For example some of the changes on the Icon, mostly were about increasing abuse tolerance, and to do that we adjusted the suspension to a tiny bit stiffer, went to a harder dustcap and went to heartier leads to take more abuse, to add to that we have some adjustments coming to the Xcon too, but I will leave that for a later date. You don't have to, you aren't touting them as the second coming of god. man is that thread spiraling out of control. i bet they get pissy and close the thread because they feel threatened I like how they think I "threatened" them when they are the ones with the threat. I like that one.

It appears that something happened going into Canada somewhere along the line. They should cover the cost, but sometimes it is just not worth dealing with them and going through the hassle. If it was both, then I would push forward with it.

My connection went out in the middle of a reply. Anyway, I will not lie, the W7 is an excellent driver and I will do my best to keep my bias out of this topic as I have experience with both. But I find it very interesting the JL rep seems to know the DNA/lineage of the Xcon even though I would bet he has never even seen one in person and would venture to guess he has no idea how well they are built. Curious if JL can claim zero warranty failures on the W7? (yes I know there are a crap load more out there, but still would be interesting). Mark and I did not just slap some parts together and hope for the best, we are working with one of the best engineering teams period for a reason. One thing to think about is amount you are paying for a name in each product.
