First off, welcome to SSA. Current supply wise, you should be pretty good, but hard to know for sure until installed and watching the voltage during music. I can't comment on box size as I don't have experience with that sub, their site should have best info. Battery upgrade will help for sure. Maybe consider some deadening. -

Being a Mazda fan, from experience, I am going to suggest you add some sound deadening to the install too.

The face of D4S is the worst human in car audio. A pure scum bag that has lied to customers to steal orders from SSA. Anything that has a D4S logo, is most certainly a rip off if you know the person(s) behind it. I would have no faith in any actual engineering or unique design.
I need to wash and wax the RX8. I need to sell it too.
Nice car. Do you have a set budget? Have you done any sound deadening or electrical system upgrades? Sounds like cone area is the first step.
