  1. Did a crap ton of house work today.
  2. That appears to be a mixture of clipping, and driving them past their limits. We have never had an Xcon look like this that I know of. I got your PM, we can arrange a recone, but first the cause of burning up such overbuilt sub woofers needs to be corrected before putting them right back in.
  3. Yes, just faster and less expensive to send out a new dustcap.
  4. We don't have any inventory built up, so there are no old models. What happened, it seemed was an original dust cap was mistakenly put on the later Dcon. Email us: support "at" soundsolutionsaudio.com if you would like the red "Dcon" dust cap shipped out to you.
  5. I am here. Just busy at the office today. There is always a slow down in post over the spring months. Many college students are busy wrapping up the year, other people are starting projects, and some are beginning vacations.
  6. Yesterday it was Penguin4x4's b-day, today is bjboertje (23), ManBearPig (23), CR-V (28), _HeC_ (26) birthday's.
  7. Not these.
  8. I never have boring years, only good or bad.
  9. :peepwall:
  10. so your saying there is not advantage at all from tuning a box to 26 or 31.... i'm pretty sure it will play even flatter tuned real low... anyway i'm sealing it up and i'll see from there... It all depends on the install, goals, space available, choice of driver etc. 31hz is fine for most ported installs with the Xcon, in car audio due to cabin gain evident in many vehicles. There is nothing wrong with 26hz at all, but there is a point where the law of diminishing returns will kick in and you might as well go sealed for the vehicle. Home audio, that is a very different story, enclosures can be much larger and tuned much lower.
  11. Talk to Mike, he's the one with the crazy idea (like you) of building a tri-so wall. Get a camper shell/snugtop for your truck and a good case of metal mites. Maybe TJ should do that instead of all those 15's he's planning on. Actually Chris Underwood had the idea of an "ISO-TRISO" wall.....basicly instead of using 2 eights and a 10 you would use 4eights and 2 tens with all the speakers in an iso formation!!!!! Fs would be somewhere below 20hz and would only need a cubic foot of air! And yall call me the crazy one! I probably dont need to mention the power handling capabilities(i mean its six motor structures driving one enclosure) Gives a whole new meaning to 6appeal huh johnny! Mike....think we can talk TJ out of 4 cu.ft. of air? We have the technology.....we can rebuild him....better, stronger, faster.... >> Better, faster, stronger. <<
  12. This is getting serious.
  13. I actually have a diecast model of an SV sitting here in my room. I think I still have a yellow one back at my mothers house.
  14. 31hz is plenty low for car audio.
  15. They were meant to be bad.
  16. Ok, relax a little. He was not saying anything bad about the Blues speakers. He was speaking in factual terms that apply to all installs. And he is right about our ears. In the big picture, the total install is the impact of the end result. Meaning two different people can have the exact same vehicle and equipment, but that does not mean the end sound will be the same. There are so many factors at play, yes the quality and engineering behind a driver is very important, but there are a great deal of other installation variances that over ride that in the end, hence his example about the VW speakers.
