You can use the Sony enclosure as a starting point and see how it maps out. Then start considering larger sizes.

So i should just go with the stock btl? or the xcon? there about the same price im pretty sure.. Also i want impressive lows, and im not sure the xcon can hang with the btl in that area you know? I have finished my box already its 4.6 cubes at 33hz so i guess ill base the sub off the box. The Xcon's can hang with most any woofer in the lowest of low frequencies. But I think the BTL is more what you are looking for.

With the information given so far, the option mentioned I like the best is the single Dcon 12 ported, @ 4 ohm mono. If not the pair of 10's will still be awesome.

If the sub was brand new, there is a chance you smelled some excess glue burning off, but that would not last long.

Apparently now there is a fraud investigation going on.

That is the problem, people keep trying to get it sorted out, and they are still awaiting drivers, recalled amps, recones, replacement units, etc. etc. and they is either no response or lies. The fact that the product quality has fallen off a great deal, the customer service cannot get any worse, and the lies that are perpetuated just boggles my mind that people still think (not saying you, just people in general) it is a good idea to buy product from that "company". He is not attacking you, he is more so talking about the product and the company.

I'm going to pick up a pair of these for my birthday this year. July can't come soon enough. :woot:
