  1. They should be wrapping them up very soon.
  2. I am not sure if this has been asked, but are you having any enclosure flexing issues? Also, have you done and bracing, deadening or dampening in your vehicle?
  3. When we upgrade the electrical, and swap out the 3000D for a pair of 2000D's, then the score should rise some.
  4. Who is that first statement directed at? No one is trying to criticize, we are trying to use a smart process of finding out the problem before buying new equipment. And I mirror what 'phi' says again about wondering if this is port noise. My first statement was not particuarly aimed at anyone... It could possibly be port noise, but I have limited space, like low tuning, and the port doesn't suffer from any chuffing noise as i can hear. I'm tuned so low as i like competing in a format called propper droppers. Will probably sound bonkers, but here's the forum for you to look over. http://streetbassers.co.uk/forum/index.php There was a member on here that had a purple Ford and put up crazy numbers in propper droppers a couple of years ago. I would suggest doing some air flow smoothing work on your box if you have not done so yet. Every little bit can help, Jacob of Sundown did a little step by step pictorial on here recently showing the gains he had. Also, Pound That Sound has put up unreal numbers with SQ drivers in the super low ranges, I would take a look at his designs. Many are horns that have curfed ports.
  5. I have not had any experience with the Steg amps, but the Sundown and JL's are excellent options.
  6. There are a few sweet Opti's in the Classifieds here on SSA.

  8. I feel there are better daily choices for over 2000 watts.
  9. Is that with the truck in the build log with 2 18s on the 3000d? If so, how many cubes on each sub? Yes, and right around 6 even per.
  10. I have actualy been thinking about doing this with mine. ^ What would be some the pro's vs. con's in your opinion? Well, they are well suited for both sealed and ported, but the vast majority of Xcons are in ported boxes that I know of. The pro's and con's are inline with advantages and disadvantages of going sealed over ported (in theory >> higher potential power handling, flatter response, greater excursion, lower output, less efficient etc.) With the Xcon being a low distortion design, and having high excursion capabilities, it can really excel in sealed. Thats what is stopping me, the lower output. Flat and low is a good thing, Maybe I give it a go since MDF would be the only cost to find out and if I like them sealed I could always add 2 more. Sorry to crap your thread acex. Build looks nice bro. In a proper enclosure, they don't lack output sealed.
  11. That is unreal. I want to be one of these guys:
  12. I hope that sucker is held down some how.
  13. Thank you for clearing that up. no problem, and I if you didn't gather... I think Xcons are amazing Thank you, I was just confused as to what you were getting at earlier, might have misunderstood your wording.
  14. Thank you for clearing that up.
  15. You can check with Fisher customs, they do designs also.
  16. Sometimes I enjoy watching people post themselves into a corner of no credibility, other times I like helping them along.
  17. they are built in the same place, but as I'm understood not necessarily same process, and design. remember, Fi is selling direct, for other companies they must be able to build the woofer cheap enough for merchant company to re-sell for a profit. I think SSA makes a great product, but I don't see why you would spend more money on a product when you can buy a custom sub for less directly from the person who builds and designs their woofer. I shouldn't say not same quality your right, but in this particular case, how can a more expensive sub with less power handling be a good recommendation? ....... Since when does power handling only, dictate price? And how can you compare two different drivers based on power handling alone? And I am not clear as to which driver you are saying is more expensive with less power handling?
  18. Not like he is doing much. I paid WAY too much for him in our dynasty a couple years back. Ironic how the most popular sport in the U.S. is very socialized.
  19. Are you using the stock skin? If so, that could be why.
  20. Yikes, I want my son to be athletic, but not like this.
  21. here is what he wants, don't really see why we need to start over... the BL actually handles the lows quite well, what BTL's did you have? you could always go with two 15" BTL's, although you would have more cone area with 4 12's. but any sub from Fi I would not worry about handling the lows, I have seen every line bang hard on the lowest of lows! the SSA woofers are nice, but then now are going up in price, and may not match the quality of the Fi woofers. the Icon's are a thousand watt sub, and you can't have them custom built to take more like you can the Q or BL, and at 275 a piece your over the 1k mark, especially with the Xcon's. Like I said, for that price range Fi really is your best choice. Even with willingness to spend more, i would still recommend Fi, or maybe then Treo if you wanted to really drop some cash. Sundown Audio makes some great woofers, but the SA series probably won't handle that amp, and the Nightshades are high power beasts, 4 of them could take 8-10 k watts, and would cost you double your budget. I find that a funny statement as they are built in the same place and SSA drivers have never once gone up in price. But I mentioned starting over because he is asking about a sub woofer few people know about and is coming from a less then average quality brand, that is suggesting high tuning. Who know's, the SSD or BL might be the best choice for him, but we have no idea as to what his goals are other then perceived "low's".
  22. You have been all over the place with equipment from here and there, lets take a step back before you just keep throwing more and more equipment at us. What are your goals, your budget on amp, speakers, front stage, electrical upgrades, etc? I wouldnt get a sub with those T/S Parameters. Thanks jay-cee, you are right, I'm kinda going crazy all over the place tryin to make everything fit into my budget and the whole time the quality of product is getting worse and worse. I am going to slow down and concentrate on obtaining one piece at a time so I can maintain the integrity of the overall system. No sense in putting good money with a bad product, just to have to spend more money later to replace it with what I should have bought in the first place. Thanks to all for your patience.
