I vote you go for the BL's and build the box to Fi's suggested enclosure size.

That first image looks like an impact. Not saying at all you did it. But like KU40 said, it could have just been similar to a hair line crack on a windshield and due to vibration, it expanded quickly. Also, I forgot to ask, what ohm load are your showing that amp? I ask because if it is pushing close to its full 1500 watt ratting, that could be over driving the sub causing that sound you are hearing.

The Viper should sell soon. At least I hope so.

Almost? Cant wait to run my 6.5 Hertz comps on 1,2 ch. and bridge 3,4,5,6 for my two tens. Was pondering something like a 2-way active front stage (amp 1): Tweets off 1+2 and mids bridged off of 3+4+5+6. (amp 2) 3 10" sub's with each sub on a pair of channels, driver 1 on 1+2, driver 2 on 3+4, driver 3 on 5+6. But it is more a wishful plan, as I don't think I am going to be able to rebuild before the cold months.

There are plenty that I know of. The SSA Store has been moving a few here and there.

Okay, so we have a budget of $400. Now with that budget, what are your goals? Good sound and blending with your front stage/rest of stereo? Crazy output on the cheap? Ability to have decent output, but not piss off the neighbors ?

Can you take a moment and really lay out your goals and not use descriptors like SQ. By taking a more analytical approach might be the best way, instead of setting constraints and trying to fit to them.
