Welcome to SSA. If you run the 2000D at 2ohms mono, I think you will be ok, as long as you are not clipping.

Have to remember to order the router tonight. Was eye'ing a netgear. Also considering turning an old gateway into a physical firewall and IDS.

I don't think you will be too hard pressed to find a Fi Q owner in the area, as they have been out for a little while so they are pretty well spread out.

Let me move this to the speaker/sub woofer section where it will be more at home.

It is a tough choice, but since you mentioned output, not that the Xcon lacks in any way as proven by everyone who gives any feedback on it, the pair of 12 Icon's would have the potential to be a hair louder and you would still maintain that low octave authority.

Both will get the job done very well, but the pair of 12" Icon's have a slight advantage for output.

u think fiber glass will be enough for bracing inside and out? Knowing how hard you push your equipment, I think it would be worth throwing a small brace in there. At least from the baffle to the rear face, especially with this heavy long throw drivers if you are only going single baffle.

I'm on the opposite side of your issue. Too much experience and no school. I have a 5-7 years of experience, certifications, 3 degrees and 1/2 to a 4th, and a clearance and it is still not enough, or too much.
