im thinkin once i get my electrical up to par im might upgrade to either another icon or try out and xcon(just wished they made a 10" xcox) There have been a few requests, but the motor structure is wider then the basket, and the 10" 12-spoke basket does not have the clearance for the amount of travel the Xcon can do.

I am no expert, but I am sure willing to find out what approach Sir Mantz took with his designs, read reviews and probably try them out before I make a blanket statement. FR Class-D is improving, and he has been working with it for a while with pro-audio and home-audio amps.

It is already at the complete width of my wheel wells. I was thinkig of shortning it a little, and making it a little deeper. I wasn't sure if there would be enough air flow between the box and rear hatch though. Also I could build the box over 1 wheel well, 1 has the jack and such on it... Oh and it is tuned to 30 now. I think if the box was a little shorter it might hit the higher notes better. If you like the performance in the 7.3 cube, try to stay that size then. If you want, you can tune @ 34hz, but I would not go too much higher for a daily listening install. But box height is not going to effect the higher notes, that has everything to do with total box design, tuning, and so on. But if you want, you can try 6.5-6.75 cube @ 34hz, that should be a good departure from your current box. Then you can see which size and tuning you prefer.

It is going to be difficult to get a high number as most IXL 15's that I know of, if they are ported, are tuned low like Puggsley's, and not seeing gobs of power.

LoL Good. More for me. Patience is a virtue my friend. His line of work is for the true perfectionist and I'm not settling for anything less. Anything else on the market right now is inferior to these upcoming amplifiers. I've been waiting for these puppies for quite some time now. A couple of more weeks won't hurt me one bit. i am of the same opinion. weird how some of the guys over at DIYMA are thumbing their noses at the new Zed release because, of the class D variation/based design. That that did not rub me the right way. In an ignorance/arrogance of apparently all Full Range Class-D's are the same so why get the ZED when I can get the PDX.

I don't think I can beat it, but I was brought home from the hospital in a '74 bug. Parents had multiple bugs before and after that day also. There is a die-hard air-cooled VW gear head who is part of the mod staff, but I will not say who. I've got a set of 5 spoke Empi's, a 72 dual port 1600, some seats, steering wheel, light buckets and all sorts of other Wolfsburg air cooled goodies at my house; although I doubt Aaron is referring to me. Nope, but you should unload that stuff to get the TwinTurbo.

Now I know why the Phaetons cost so damned much... Not used ones, thought about myself a few times. Almost like getting an S or 7 for 1/2 the price.
