  1. I don't think I can beat it, but I was brought home from the hospital in a '74 bug. Parents had multiple bugs before and after that day also. There is a die-hard air-cooled VW gear head who is part of the mod staff, but I will not say who.
  2. i <3 VW's I am only in partial agreement now. I think ford does a BANG up job. They are actually growing in certain countries in sales. Since GM doesn't exist anymore in my mind, Ford is the only car company left in the US to me! i <3 VW too Though now I grew older, and I am more into Merc BMW and audi..... VW will always have a special place in my heart. I had a great jetta. '96 I agree on Ford. I should have delineated which companies I was generalizing.
  3. <<<< Ferdinand
  4. Another reason why American car companies are behind. Worth the few minutes to watch it.
  5. Not sure if I ever gave my wife a choice.
  6. Should be Nice, but not what I'm looking for now... I want the 10's subwoofers, small boxes and great response in every kind of music. Thanks! He was just kidding, as the DDZ is a purpose built SPL sub and is meant to play one tone really loudly.
  7. I think this is pretty much the basis of the fault in the comparison. An SPL driver being compared to an SQ driver, it is pretty obvious which to choose if going for SPL or if going for SQ. But for someone to join up and say one will own another with zero knowledge on 1/2 of the comparison, is flat out pointless and does nothing to help the OP.
  8. This is true because you have tested both drivers in their proper enclosures for both high output and sound quality in the same install, and you have solid findings to post. Way to help the topic.
  9. MY kind of grandmom: http://growingbolder.com/media/technology/...oad-259598.html
  10. Our distro has the BPX500.1, and it is giving me the itch to add it to the collection.
  11. I have not heard that exact model JL, but usually they are a good bet. The Polk db line is also a decent set of components to look into.
  12. I personally would lean towards the BL, but that is my bias I guess. Regardless, it is a proven driver and was just recently upgraded.
  13. A member on CA-F has some and loves it.
  14. will do and i plan on doin some 45's in the corners to help out
  15. Looks like a really fun project. I have to say, that was very sweet of your dad to throw in some money like that. Great amp/sub combo. And it is good to see someone deaden a Jeep, as any little bit will help. :)
  16. If you want, round down the edges of the ends of the port walls where the air flow turns. Not sure if you were planning that or not, but any little thing you can do to help air flow, makes a difference in the end. Jacob had a great topic of the little things he was doing in his box with air flow and every little tweak he did to smooth it out helped.
  17. nice ...but ... do u really want that ...? <> (more members= more idiots) We welcome any and all people who enjoy audio and are not here to cause problems, flame or push products. We have a great mod team to make sure this run smoothly.
  18. I check in there on a steady basis, but there are just too many people talking out of their rump in too many topics it seems.
  19. Tonight is my bachgelors party!!!! I hope I do meet Destiny and Diamond tonight. I really hope you had a great time, my party sucked ass. Either way, tell us how it went.
  20. Same thing happens to me. Same here, if I was single and had no ties, I easily would have had a number of different positions by now because so many of these "offers" are way out of state.
  21. Any pix?
