  1. Honestly, I feel he should start with the sealed box suggestions and worry more about getting enough power to them and then decide if a little more output is wanted.
  2. Thanks for the positive words. Looking forward to your build, and we have addressed and taken care of the automated spammers (including a software patch).
  3. If Mark gets Marylin Monroe, I expect Jane Mansfield.
  4. Can you please describe your goal, space to work with, power on hand, listening preferences, budget, etc. etc.
  5. Come on people, he is the originator of SSA!
  6. :gift: :gift: Wish I could be there to hang out for the weekend.
  7. The Dcon's will be right at home in the suggested tuning range.
  8. Find out what it is about sealed enclosures that he does not like. This driver's parameters heavily favors a sealed box, and a larger one at that.
  9. The difference will also be a little dependent on the vehicle. But 1cube per 10 is very good.
  10. I am a few hours south east.
  11. 256MB ram was a lot in those times It is actually 2 old ran sticks I had sitting around.
  12. 'Tis a whopping 333mhz and 265m ram I believe. So going to try old Suse 9.1 Pro on it.
  13. Trying to revive an old Gateway 2000 box to turn it into a cruncher.
  14. I do not own one, but go as large as you can fit and stick with suggested tuning. Honestly I personally would seal them, but that's me. (moving topic to SoundSplinter section).
  15. On This Date... In 1970, Apollo 13 returned safely to Earth. In 1964, the Ford Motor Company unveiled the Ford Mustang at the New York World's Fair. In 1924, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studios was formed from a merger of Metro Pictures, Goldwyn Pictures and the Louis B. Mayer Company. In 1907, the Ellis Island immigration center processed 11,747 people, more than any other day. In 1524, Giovanni da Verrazzano reached New York harbor. In 1492, Spain and Christopher Columbus signed a contract for him to sail to Asia to get spices. And in 1397, Geoffrey Chaucer told the Canterbury Tales for the first time at the court of Richard II. Happy Birthday Victoria Beckham (1974), Jennifer Garner (1972), Marquis Grissom (1967), Boomer Esiason (1961), Sean Bean (1959), Nick Hornby (1957), Rowdy Roddy Piper (1954), Cynthia Ozick (1928), William Holden (1918
  16. Wonder what kind of power can be added to the new 335d? 425lb/ft stock, pshaw.
  17. I believe we still have one or two left of B-stock. Their boxes are so messed up they would probably have to be pick up only or I need to rig up a box.
  18. These are all great info as we really like to hear how people find our little corner of the web.
  19. With 700 watts or more it is a win win regardless if you choose the Icon, Q, or Xcon (even IXL and RL-p for that matter). All are going to produce excellent sound in a proper enclosure. The differences are in the details in which drivers strengths will play better to your goals and how much in the end you want to spend. There are countless positive reviews on all the drivers I mentioned above (outside the Xcon as it is totally new to market). I would love it if you choose our driver, but I am not going to lie and say it is the only good option. The Icon and Q are both more driver then most people need and neither lack in low end or output regardless of sealed or ported and trust me I have plenty of time with both. The Xcon is a power step up from that, but also more expensive.
  20. I have a small stack of the original stickers sitting next to me. We will print up a new batch soon.
  21. 18's ported are around 6.25 - 10.5 cubes and 26-34hz tuning is a good range to get started. Our show truck is tuned to 31hz and a number of people feel that is the sweet spot.
  22. Thoughts on Stella Artois? I had that when I went to Canada for New Years, and I really liked that stuff. I like it when I can afford it. Stella is regularly just as cheap here as domestic shit beers. Maybe it is just this area, some of my fav's are priced up due to their location of origin I believe, Sapparro, Stella, Tsing Tao, etc. Fixed your Bold. At the liquor store it is more here, just in bars they almost consider it a domestic. Cheaper than some of the local micro-domestics as well which makes no sense. It was around much more so when I lived closer to the city, but since we have moved out to hazzard county, things are a little different.
