The "X"con 12" prototype has arrived
Kent, we had to move away from the blue logo partially due to the consistency of the printing and it is difficult to get both colors aligned on the print. Meaning with the Icon style dust cap it needs to be just one color for the most consistent results.

3 idq 10s vs 1 icon 15
Wow he loves to lie to make a sale doesn't he. That head to head he is talking about was a test done by a member here named Kent, goes by the user name mrray13. The person who messaged you failed to tell you the truth that the "head to head" was not between the RD sub and the Icon, it was between a Mach5 sub and the RD sub. Lie #1. He also failed to mention the RD sub was well broken in, and the Icon, which Kent had just received in shipping, was spanking new, fresh out of the box with very stiff suspension as all new Icons come. Lie #2 Next, he was not present at this head to head between, mind you, the Mach5 sub and the RD sub. Lie #3. Next, fresh out of the box very few drivers are going to put up a high number on the termlab mic. In addition, rms ratting has nothing to do with the level of sound or quality of a sub woofer. Also, are you going to trust someone who guarantee's and item but cannot spell it? You don't have to answer that, just showing once again what kind of rep/dealer/spammer/lair he is.

3 idq 10s vs 1 icon 15
Did he happen to tell you he is breaking terms of service to spam you with an advertisement? Did he happen to tell you that he has been banned from multiple other websites for pushing product on people? Did he happen to tell you he has never heard an Icon before so he has no clue or room to comment on it? Did he happen to tell you the Sonance will not have the bottom end or the clarity of the Icon because of the aluminum voice coil? Did he happen to tell you the long running issues with their build house and fit and finish of their drivers? Did you happen to see the serious price premium for what he thinks is a better sub?

Haha, no contest sorry. If we use the same style as on the Icon, it will be the simple SSA logo.

Welcome to the IHoP
Daimler is the parent company of Mercedes-Benz. So when they bought Chrysler, all cars were under the Daimler-Chrysler umbrella for a few years. They have not really had many markings on the more modern Mercedes, but my older model has a number of Daimler-Benz logo's on it.

They sent me an email about it, but we got our next movie.

The "X"con 12" prototype has arrived
The weight between the carbon fiber and the Icon style dust cap is not an issue so moving mass would not change and cause no change in performance. This thing is going to really be something very special, as it should reside in the top group of super subs (ie the "SQ" sub woofers that have the power handling and can move some air if need be).

What does everyone think of the dust cap? The carbon fiber dust cap is on now just for the prototype, but what do people think about it.... We planned to move forward with the same style dust cap as the Icon, but this carbon fiber one is an option.

The "X"con 12" prototype has arrived
Thank you for the positive response, we feed off of hearing from people. To answer your first question, this is still early in the testing stage of the prototype. Mark is currently putting the driver through its paces to make sure it can handle a solid factor more then what our goals are and what we will rate it. As we have a great relationship with our build house, much of the design was hashed out in detail prior to building the first working version, this helps really dial in our goals. Not to mention it is cheaper then going though 10 different versions. As for decision making on design, it is effected by the parts available to the build house. But that is said for all companies, unless you are putting forth some serious money to go with something totally different. As for people tossing in money, that is a very nice gesture, but Mark and I have SSA debt and loan free. Meaning it is all out of pocket for us, but that is the way we prefer to. Now, if there was crazy demand for a specialty driver, much like Mach5 did with the SPL line, we would most certainly consider our options. I think you guys created quite a stir by introducing this prototype. It got me out of lurker status. It's a unique sub with its exaggerated backplate. I look foward to reading more about its design and how you came about making it happen. Thanks. For us unique is what we have to go for, because being a new brand we have to offer something that really stands out in performance and sometimes in looks (as in total lack of flash and 'bling'). If the end, the Xcon is meant to sound as good if not better then the Icon and have a ton of linear movement while handling some serious power.

Hi
- Hey I'm a Noob
- Welcome to the IHoP
I personally prefer to buy from a camera company and not an electronics manufacturer. It is all in the lense, but as for which I'd have no idea at this point. Sony typically uses Zeis for the optics portion of the camera. I have a Sony Cybershot that works plenty fine. It even got tossed and landed on gravel concrete and still works good (save from some pictures coming out a lil blurry if your not steady) It is my understanding that it is some chinese or comparable lense with a zeiss name on it. I believe that is correct, I think Carl Zeiss passed away and the Zeiss brand name was kind of killed off and Sony bought the rights to use it. From what I can recall, and I could be wrong here, but the last few Zeiss lenses were a standard chassis with just a different curvature to their primary lens with a patented coating.- Welcome to the IHoP
Me too, that is why I am favoring this gem:- Welcome to the IHoP
Sean, I found a '97 318i with only 69k miles on it. edit: they are asking over bluebook, but would be a worthy replacement if the civic is down for the count. - Hey I'm a Noob
