If Dave and Webster lay it down in the finals, that will be insane. Yay for the little sub that could, err I mean sounds good.

Project over the past month.
That is insane. I hope to build a line array in the future, but probably not at that scale.

Welcome to SSA, sounds like a seriously loud set up so far. Start a new topic, tell us about your build plans and front stage.

Product Review section re-structured
After some discussion by the mod team, I re-directed all RSS/review feeds into the Audiojunkies section, along with moving all topics in there. So now the review section is back to only member reviews!! So if you have an old review, post it up. If you have a new product or a recent product you are using, post up a review. Reviews by members are some of the best tools to learn about a product by someone who does not work for, rep for, or fan boy for a company. Get to it!

(1) 18 or (2) 15's
Size of cone does not dictate frequency response. But if you have room for 7 cubes, and Fi suggests it, the design should be impressive. I usually prefer less drivers.

Welcome to the IHoP
Fender arrived this morning. I have to go to the scrapyard this weekend and cut a quarter panel apart for a patch panel, then fix the door, and it'll be ready for paint. Once I get it painted, I think I'm going to take a trip to the local Bimmer spot and see how close I can get to the 135i with the Cobra and V6. I would love the 128i, not sure I want to deal with a turbo car again for a while. what is the downside or turn off on turbo's for you. Over the years, it was heat or part failure. But I have not had the money or friends that owned a recent vehicle that was turbo. Don't get me wrong, I helped work on a few Audi/VW 1.8T's and got some nice power out of them, but power delivery was not that linear. Way back when, my Merkur's engine block could take all the forced induction you could afford, but the heat under hood was always an issue.

I would love the 128i, not sure I want to deal with a turbo car again for a while. I just wish they had one in stock so I can actually see how big the damn thing is. I would like a sedan for the extra two doors, but I just need something with a larger trunk that I can fit all my tools in and still have room for a stroller or something. The Mustang has no trunk. I can get my tools in there now, but nothing else. I've been looking at this, but not so sure I want to give up two cars for it., and I don't particularly care for the saddle interior. http://www.mccormicksb.com/rdmcmotors_578.htm That is the car we bought for Amanda, except forest metallic green and darker tan interior then the one you linked. Very solid car, rides, corners, and cruises smoothly. Not sure it will have enough forward thrust for your tastes, because I know I wish ours did. The I-6 will do you solid and run awesome. I kind want a 6 speed 530i, but I don't need that large a car at this point. So used manual 330i wagon is on the top of the list for me.

Welcome to the IHoP
On this day in 1992, Cosmonaut Sergei Krikalev returned to Earth after a 10-month stay aboard the Mir space station. In 1979, the first fully functional space shuttle orbiter (Columbia) was delivered to the John F. Kennedy Space Center to be prepared for its first launch. In 1958, Canada's Avro Arrow made its debut flight. In 1655, Saturn's largest moon (Titan) was discovered by Christian Huygens. Electrically supporting 16,000+rms
I am not sure on how the companies rate their products, but it seems one is suggesting you run the non-audio electrical parts of the stock unit, and run the audio separate of the vehicle electronics, while the other is saying run 4 of high output. I think it is a position of do you need or feel you need the current of 4 non-dedicated high output alts, or 3 dedicated high output alts? As for batteries, powermaster seem to be doing well, deka's are good per dollar. I have had good luck with SVR's, but I am not sure what is available on the islands. But I don't think swapping out batteries with out increasing the number of them will make that much of a difference.

2way & 3way
LB, if you have the Sundown 100.4, it has been popular with people going active 2-way with their fronts. If you don't want to worry about messing with the head unit crossover settings, you can run it flat and use the crossovers built into the amplifier (removing the passive external crossovers) and run the front channels to the tweets and cross them over high, and mids of the rears and cross them over low. As to how much overlap you like between the two will be found through testing, and where the crossover points are that your ears like will be found through adjusting them. My active front stage, that might get installed this year is much cheaper then any set of passive components that could be of comparable performance. I will be running separate amplifiers to the mids and highs, but I will venture to predict once dialed in, they will out shine my original RF Fanatic Q passives. Try it out and experiment, tuning is part of the fun.

Time for a change
Jim did you ever consider that supermarket might be a gourmet supermarket in eastern France, and the OP lives in Frankfurt? Anyway, I agree with sir ramos, just live and let live, and if you can add something or offer help from experience great. I don't have a clue what I am labeled as, although I am sure people perceive SQsnoooob because of the Icon/SSA forums, but I do enjoy trying to build a loud system for high SPL #'s when I have time/money/equipment/vehicle to do so. I, as are 95% of most of all the audio forum members are, will never have the technical knowledge of Sean or the install skill of sir ramos, but we strive to learn to get there. I know I will never get the 300 to world class SQ winner, but I want be able to compete if I wanted to do so. As for the lil' trusty scooter, I just want to have great performance, be it clean/crisp sound that makes me happy, or clean mid's/high's and a substage to impress the dealers. So, well I don't think I helped this topic at all, but SSA as a collective is very good at trying to help everyone out.

NPdang's SSA ICON 12D2 REVIEW
If the drivers can stand up to the abuse testing mark does and the listening testing I do, it will do well.
