  1. Out of gum.
  2. Did I ever mention how much I hate January gym go'ers?
  3. Selling the PG's, I think you might be sad later on. Same goes for the RL-p.
  4. For the price, it might be worth it. Good car, engine has loads of pwoer potential. A chip and a few small things and you are deep in to 200hp with not much work. The engine and drive train will hold and do you solid. The little pieces inside will be a bugabo, but not that big a deal. I would check the condition of the turbo, that could go and you would be pissed. I think there was a rash with CV joints and something in the steering, but it has been over 2 years since I have worked on my friends A4. Safe and vault solid car and I think you will like it, not a rip roaring snorter like the cobra, but will get it done. The Blows system is a pain in the tookus, so not sure if you are going to yank it or not. For daily all year round schleping, you got a good choice. What happened with the uber duber find red mustang you had? And is the torass no more?
  5. rofl 'Oh no what day is it? March 1st, why? Its open season on the L.A. freeway!! Hurry up get my gun out of the glove compartment!! ** proceeds to shoot at water truck **
  6. Very attractive car, love the paint and wheels.
  7. I probably should know more about guns working in Baltimore.
  8. I have not seen that amp before.
  9. Nice write up. Can you copy and paste it as a reivew in the review section also?
  10. Aaron Clinton replied to jlm7291's topic in Fi Products
    I agree with Johnecon.
  11. Why do I imagine this phone call: "Hello Steve, this is ****** ****** from RF, we need a car done for CES 2009......"
  12. In most cases for dbDrag, ulgy=loud. I love those BPX amps, keep us updated on how you do this year.
  13. Should be outstanding.
  14. Would you consider running a pair of 15's sealed? They will still sound great, you will double the cone surface, so in theory you should really go up in output. A sealed box will be not as deep as a ported, and the RL-p's are low Q drivers so they do not need a huge box.
  15. There is no perfect, there is best suited for your needs. The Fi Q and SSD's are very good, so is the Icon , Sound Splinter RL-p, Sundown SD-1v2, all built here in the USA, all backed by great people.
  16. If you wired the subs to 1/2 ohm mono, you could void the warrenty on your nice amplifier.
  17. Personally, I know the quality of build of the BL's, and I know how they hold up. I don't know about the AQ's, so I cannot comment on them. But I vote BL's, you can option them if need be, can AQ say that?
  18. I used to swear by them, but they are not always needed. Most solid HU's are 4+ volts now. My initial need was because the length of RCA run in my old SUV. If you are worried about the utmost in output, or want to keep your amp gains down, or want to run a balanced signal and the amp can take it, then they are worth it. Personally I would love to run the Zapco's and Symbilink and have a balanced 16volt signal, but that is very pricey and the sound gains are minimal.
  19. Personally, if you are set on Fi drivers, a pair of Q 12's sealed with about 1200-1700 watts will be a great start. If you want more output, then you could build a larger sealed, or ported box.
  20. As for the JL / SSA+Sundown comparison, the W7 and the SSA Icon are both meant for sound quality, with good power handling and good excursion. No I am not saying the Icon will beat the W7 or the W7 will kill the Icon. Both will produce great sound in a well built box, and have solid output when given clean power. The price difference can partially be due to the JL Audio established name and a massive hype train at fulls steam ahead, the great performance record the W7 has, and that they are a large company that are dealer based. For SSA, we are much smaller, much newer, and the Icon is still pretty new to market, in addition the Icons are sold direct on the internet (with a few dealer reps too). So the W7 can command a larger price tag, but does it really command that much larger? Most say no. The JL 1000 amp is a good solid regulated amplifier that will be almost spot on 1000 watts regarless of voltage levels above 11 volts I think. It also has been around for a few years, has a big company behind it and is mostly sold in stores. The Sundown on the other hand, just like SSA, is a new company, just getting the name established, and the SAE-1000D is new to market, it will also do 1000 watts no sweat, but with a good electrical system they have been known to put out about 1100. So the turn here is, do you feel the extra money is worth it for a big name product who has a long history, or two well built products who have great names and customer service but are not big companies that will give very similar levels performance for less? If this is in a trunk car, the fine details that might be in favor for the JL are lost in the trunk anyway. Yes I am biased towards Sundown because I know Jacob does outstanding service, and the Icon is our (ssaudio/denim) subwoofer and we believe in its quality and performance (reviews and feedback support that), but I am trying to explain the difference in and unbiased manner.
  21. Love how that worked out.
  22. What matters is that it is with in the budget and she is happy.
