  1. .....when you get a second job just to pay for more car audio equipment. .....when you spend all your money on a sub only to have it arrive but not be able to drive around town with it because you don't have gas money .....when instead of sleeping in class, you think about what your next system should be.
  2. Thanks Denim. Soy, that is an incredible deal. Someone just got the deal of a lifetime.
  3. Fair enough. Thanks for the reply. I'll be sure to posts pics and thoughts when completed.
  4. Today I picked up my 15" MAG and found it to be in excellent condition. Bought it off CA for $200!! Anyway for the next couple weeks I'll put it in a sealed box until I get the chance to talk to Woodlawn Cabnitry (Phil Salisbury) in person about fitting a ported box in my trunk. SI's site suggests 2.3-3 cuft sealed. I couldn't find driver displacement on SI's site so I'm guessing its around .19 (using Fi Q's displacement, fair assumption?). For those who have used their Mag in a sealed box, I was wondering what size the enclosure was, how the results were and if you would suggest it being a little bigger or smaller. Right now I'm thinking of 2.5cuft after driver displacement. Or about 2.7 before driver displacement. Also, for the ported box. I've had some people tell me 4cuft to 30 hz. The previous owner told me he had it in a 3.5cuft to 30hz and he said it was perfect. And I've had people telling me go with 3.8 to 30 hz. Its a common theme to do 30hz and I've been set on that and will be set on that. Anyone used a 15" MAG in any of those boxes and how'd you like it and would you make it bigger or smaller? If you don't have experience, then give me your best answer. SI suggests 3.5 to 30hz for the record. Thanks guys. - Yanks Fan
  5. That would be awesome DB Drag. Ill keep the thread updated for everyone.
  6. Sounds good Denim. just let me know bud.
  7. Hey everyone, me and a few others on Ecoustics are getting a little get together worked out right now. We have a place in York PA (eastern PA right above the MD/PA border) that we can do it at right now. But we might change the location to a place like Wilmington DE. The date we should be having it will be March 15th. Nothing is official to say just yet but we should have everything locked in place hopefully by mid to late this week. We have a guy coming out who is bringing his AC mic although he said something about bringing a TL but I'm not sure if he has one or not. He said he is going to charge a little fee to get metered. We aren't looking to have this thing be a competition or anything but just a get together to meet some people, hear some systems, and have a good time. We can only have 15-20 people coming according to the guy who got us the place. So far we have about 10 who said they are interested in coming. So if anyone on here is interested in showing up or has any suggestions on a place we could do it at, feel free to let me know through the thread or PM. - Yanks Fan

  10. thanks for that bud. im really leaning towards the icons.....ill be buying them in a month or 2 i hope
  11. thanks for the help bud. i honestly havent seen or heard much of anything about DC Sound Labs or the new AA line, but the little i have heard has been nothing but positives and praise. come to think of it same goes for the icon haha. its my understanding that the Icon and the Q are very similiar except for the Q can handle a little more power. But since both can handle the power i plan on running i guess that doesnt matter....hate making decisions lol

just a quick thread to say whats up...just joined a few minutes ago to get some help deciding on what to buy...go give me advice over in the SSA Icon section quick intro, i usually post over on ecoustics, few other posts at other forums....intend to post here more cause ive heard nothing but good things about this forum.....right now i have a 12" Fi SSD ran off a hifonics 1206d. my comps are crystal mobile sound cpe60's 6.5"s ran off a profile ap600....hu is pio 7800
  13. first off, hey everyone, new to this forum. im usually on other forums but figured my question would be best answered here well im really interested in the Icon and a few other subs. but i got a couple questions: 1) I wanna do 2 15" Icons sealed in my car. i can only fit about 5 cuft tops. I have a couple amps in mind and all of them do about 2500rms. Would that be too much for the Icon? Should i only put 2k on them? Also, should I make the box towards the smaller side around 4-4.5 cuft or towards the bigger end 4.5-5cuft? Or should i just call off the sealed and do 2 12's ported? 2) I think I've narrowed down my decisions to a few subs. 2 12" AA havocs ported ran off about 2500rms, 2 12" DC Sound Lab Level 4's ported ran off about 2500rms, or 2 15" Fi Q's sealed ran off of about 2500rms and of course the Icons. Anyone have any opinions/information that could be useful to me while making the decision would be great. Right now, i am leaning towards doing the Icons sealed. I have never heard 15's so it would be awesome to have 2 of them . Thanks for any help guys.
