  1. Thanks Adrian! P.S. Your country is beautiful. Every picture you post makes me want to visit there!
  2. Do it. I dare you.

"Sounding better" is subjective. You will have people who say ported is better, and people who say sealed is better. It's up to your ears. You can still use that amp. EDIT: I was beat.
  4. I don't completely agree with this statement. At all. OP: Before you pick you're woofers you're going to want to pick your amp(s). If you do have your heart set on BTL's, you DO NOT want the SPL option unless it's going to be a burpmobile.
  5. That's sweet! Sorry if you posted this earlier, but who did you get the internship through?
  6. Just got my new Crutchfield magazine and saw that they are now carrying Focal products. Not that this is terribly important, but figured I'd post it.
  7. So I have no room for my computer since I moved back from college. I'll probably be on here less over the summer, but I'll pop in every day still. On another note, I did get accepted into a Biomedical Electronics program for the fall. So I believe I'm going to be starting a new adventure!
  8. If you're looking for a mainstream comparison, I don't have one. I have yet to hear anything that would keep up with my Q, let alone a BL. The closest I heard was a Boston SPG555, which sounded nice and got loud. I think my Q edged it out though.
  9. The carpet doesn't look too bad at all. What would make it look so much better is a painted port though!
  10. Let's not use the term "sq" for this. What I'm gathering is that you want a sub that plays rap loud, but doesn't sound like a tin can? I'd say get a BL in that case. Those will get "low" enough for the type of music that you listen to. Also, how big is your trunk??
  11. I'm not sure. I'd have to weigh them after I recone them and figure it out.
  12. I would probably be interested. How much do you think you could sell them for? And when would you be selling them, becuase I probably won't have the money until after summer break, if not later. I'm not sure that I would get this quite yet. Even though WinISD shows the MJ-18M having more SPL after 20 or so hertz, the Dayton 15" HF gets it below the 20hz range. Thanks for the help That would work. I won't have the money to recone them for a few weeks yet. I would have to think about a price, but probably around 100-125ish each. I'll figure it out after I pay for the recone and get it done. Just stay in touch with me if you're interested.
  13. I have 2 motors for MJ18's. I plan on reconing them when I get the money. If you were interested in something like that I could help you out. I think they need like a 10cu ft box.
  14. I think what he is referring to a situation like this: If you wanted to run 1000watts off of a JL 1000/1. He has a d2 subwoofer so he can wire it at 1 or 4 ohms. Would he be better off running it at 1 or 4?
  15. Happy birthday!!
  16. What kind of box do you have them in?
  17. Hallo
  18. Welcome welcome!
  19. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...?showtopic=3704 There is a nice topic on how to set your gains with a DMM.
  20. Hopefully they put as much money into the actual subwoofer as they did to make it pretty! Do you have t/s parameters for this?
  21. Sweet deal. When would you recommend this over the regular Damilifier? Just a budget thing?
  22. Healed well. The sensitivity will most likely go away though. Figure that they have been taped up and not used at all for a few months now, they need to get 'used' to working again.
  23. I agree with Nick, are you freaking kidding me? Did you eat paint chips as a child? Did your mother drink daily while pregnant with you? Woah, Duran....woah. He poured rocket fuel on the fire Haha, fair enough! I guess after reading his post a couple more times, he may have deserved that.
