  1. You can play 1 octave below tuning frequency safely. (If you're tuned at 28Hz you can play 14Hz without damage.)
  2. Hopefully he mistyped that. I had my Q sealed, and I like it. HOWEVER, going from ported to sealed I lost a TON out output. Try tuning higher if you really want to, but you may want to invest in some powerful midbass speakers.
  3. Yea, I have a total of 4 routers set up in tables for doing various things. Makes things easy and efficient. Sorry to thread jack but, I'm looking a picking up a different plunge router. Any suggestions?
  4. Glad to see that this is back. It really gave me an opportunity to upgrade when I didn't have the money. Let's hope all goes smooth for you this time.
  5. Where do I get an application!
  6. they were in my 06 malibu ltz and they were underpowered plus lost alittle output with subs fireing upward but did damb good i think for two undeerpowered tens.. cant wait to hear my horn from thumper on full power. What amp?
  7. The reason you don't want to drill through the foam is the drill bit can actually twist the foam and pull it up from the basket. And as far as the sticker and what not, it's your choice to leave it or take it off.
  8. that i dont know. and as far as the gain i told him how to do that, but he said he likes it the way it is... There's no helping some people. I have a friend like that and he always comes to me to ask things. Everything I tell him he shoots down some how, so I've given up.
  9. The Bash series is what I run for my home theater. It does well for music, but the SSF is a little high for HT use. (I know you're after music, so it probably won't matter to you )
  10. This may be a biased opinion, but I think you will be hard pressed to find anything comparable in the price range. Oh, and nice work on the system!! I was thinking the same thing. I won't recommend anything other than the 187's for someone on a budget in that range.
  11. Also need to figure out how to match his gain properly.
  12. XP is a good choice no matter who you are.
  13. You can do it that way. I'd buy a few first, test it out and watch your voltage. Buy more as needed.

I agree, that is pretty insane. If a nuclear bomb is actually 250ish I'd imagine the only thing louder would be an H+ bomb. I wonder what one of those produces?
  15. Contact db-r and find out if he is accepting amps. He does quality work and is an authorized Sundown dealer.
  16. Nice work on the box and good choice in woofers. Do anything in the price range compare to the 187's?
  17. You might be able to get a plate amp and run two channels to high level inputs on the amp. The B&W crossover may be a bad idea. A crossover is typically designed for specific woofers and tweeters to be utilized. It will work, but probably not sound very nice. If it's going to be used for music you can probably follow the recommendations for car audio boxes. But room gain will be different than cabin gain. This is probably going to have to be a trial and error thing. I bought a plate amp from O Audio for my buddies Si MAG. Top notch build quality, but I've yet to put it to actual use.
  18. What did your largest system to date consist of? I just ask because if you've never done a system of this magnitude before, it's going to take some SERIOUS planning.

Ouch! You seem very injury prone!
  20. Getting closer to 1000 posts!
  21. From what I'm seeing it looks to be fine. Add a 45 if you can. Won't hurt anything!
  22. Just added mine. Great system!

3.5 months!? That's really early, glad to hear she is doing well! (I'm in the middle of my maternity clinical, ironically)
  24. 1000 watts? How is his electrical? Stock battery? Big 3? Additional batteries at all?
  25. Put the biggest battery under the hood that he can fit and do the big3. Test it out, if it still drops voltage is he probably going to have to add another battery. Even just a small powermaster or kitentic would probably suffice.
