A 2 channel amp for a set of components usually. You will power the left with channel a and right with channel b. The wires will go from the amp to a crossover and then split to the mid and tweeter.

If it where me, I'd just stick with the 6x9's (I know, I know....haha). But chances are they are going to take some sort of beating (mud, water, sticks, etc.) How exactly are you mounting all this? What quad too?

My suggestion is "Do it once, do it right." Pick something you really, really want and slowly piece it together. Like start out and deaden your car and add a cd player. Buy some speakers and then amplify them when you get the money. Who says you have to do it all at once?

How far away are your mids from your tweeters?

You need to build a nice box for it. Build it to Fi's specs. 1200w will still get loud.

I'd make a ported box tuned to 32-34. I t-line is going to be huge.

I don't recall there being a change either. The BTL, however, did get redesigned and went to a single slug.
