So you want to put 4 amps on that one sub? Not worth it. Total waste of power and money beyond only one on each coil.

Pics of the new girl. Sorry they are blurry, obviously I was trying to be sneaky. She didn't suspect, so I is teh win. I had two more, but they were worse. She's fairly tall, like 5'9". Wish the pic of her smiling was better, it's her best feature. I don't think she'll be visiting this site ever, let alone in the next 5 minutes before this page becomes a new one where it'll be easy to find.

sorry to hear that man. I hope they are able to stop it and get rid of it before it spreads x2. My aunt battled it and won about 5 years ago. She was around 43 years old I think. I'm not sure what stage she was in.
  4. You can put those subs on the Sundown amp, just don't turn the gain up as high as you would with higher wattage subs. The gain can be used to limit output power. But with 1.33 ohms you'll probably still get about 1000 watts out of the amp, since it's underrated a bit. So you'll be fine either way.
  5. sometimes those vents are there to allow air pressure to escape when you close your door. You don't want to cover those up if that's the case.
  6. Sure. Just don't turn up the gain as high.

I tend to agree. No offense to the owners of this site. But that's part of the reason I got out of competing. Seemed like everybody there were douches without much of a life.
  9. Of course it is. Back in the old days (apparently) we didn't buy amps that put out twice a sub's RMS for daily driving.

Dang I need to stop thinking about girls. I'm going to make myself desperate and feel more lonely if i keep it up.

The hot new girl comes back to work tomorrow after being gone all last week doing her OSHA 40 hour hazwhopper training. Sweet, eye candy. She's in my cubicle or emailing me like every 10 minutes asking a question (I guess she likes asking me more than our supervisor). But she's engaged. And not to me. dammit. I have to keep my eyes above her neck whenever she's in there or we're walking somewhere, don't want to walk by somebody's cube and have them see my line of vision is right at her rear. I'm actually quite proud of myself for being able to keep it professional fairly easily. And I'm no homewrecker. I've asked her if she knows any hot single coeds for me, but she only knows crazy bitches apparently.

Moved one load of junk to the new place today. Didn't see any hot babez. But I didn't really see anybody, for that matter. Hopefully this sun tea I'm drinking now won't keep me up when I want to go to bed in 10 minutes. Hmm.
  13. My advice is to not buy something that you'll have to sell at a loss later. Perhaps if you want two subs in the future, just buy one now, and the amp for it. For example, you could buy an Icon and a sundown SAZ1000D or something, then when you get additional funds you can add another Icon and another 1000D and daisy chain them. Or if you want FI BLs, maybe you could buy one now and a small 2-channel amp to fit under your budget. Then when you get more funds, buy another BL, buy a bigger amp, and switch the smaller 2 channel over to powering your front speakers.
  14. What size box do you want? What tuning frequency? What are the maximum dimensions any side of the box can be? What approximate shape/dimensions would you like the box to be?
  15. If you want to help the lows, build a larger box and tune lower. Maybe build one that's 8 cubes for both, tuned to 28-30 hz.

Bestiality is bad, mkay? Ah, caught me. Caught me with bad wording.

The news said last night was going to be the fourth straight day of record lows. Got down to about 55*. I slept with the window open, and in fact I still have it open now, just after noon. It isn't even 80* yet. Suh-weet dude. Hopefully these last few days of cooler weather have gotten the fish in the mood, as I plan to go out later tonight.

    Dumb.
  19. Is there any port noise? If there isn't, you have enough port area.
  20. the port is only 3" deep into the box? Type a little clearer, it's hard to understand you. Use width, length, and depth to describe the port. Depth is the measurement of how long the port is into the box.
  21. Tuning frequency is a function of box volume, port area, and port length. So once you know what volume you want the box to be, add the port to it to get it tuned to what frequency you want (must add port and sub volume displacement to the overall size of the box). You can use the port calculator on this site to help you out, or I use winISD.

A guy down the street from my parents has one for sale. He's been trying to sell it for 3 years. I was thinking about taking a look at it just for shits & giggles, but I'd rather have 4 more cylinders. An S2? The plain 944 is a dog, but a hell of a winter car with snowshoes. Unbelievably fun in the shittiest ice. Hell super easy car to drive really fast. I haven't owned an S2, but have driven a couple. Owned a Turbo S and miss that car. Roomate had a plain for a DD. Actually it's a 924, but I group them all together. From my understanding, they are all very similar (924, 44, 64). 68 not 64 and there is a HUGE difference in engine performance between them. You NEED the extra valves or the turbo Totally diffrent animals. IIRC the 968 came with an auto v8. 964 is the code for a generation of 911 Their model numbers are so confusing! But there's a chart on the bottom of this page that clears it up: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_944

and on the prowl for some puss... The roommate's gf told me she was bringing some girls from work over to hang out and grill today. I got a little excited for the potential. But then they came over and, yeah potential completely gone. ; So you are saying you are out of food? haha, yeah you could put it that way. Actually after they left I talked to my roommate's gf and she said "yeah I made this whole platter of things, but I didn't really expect or want them to eat it all."
  24. Do you have any dimensions that are limited by the size of your cargo area? Otherwise 18"h x 18"w x 16.5" deep will work (outside dimensions, using 3/4" wood). Or 18"h x 26"w x 11.5" deep.
  25. Yeah, your subsonic is set too high. Just remember that the crossover point isn't the point at which it begins to slope off, that's the -3db point. So you're already 3 db down at 30 hz, and probably about 4-5 db down at 27 hz. Turn the SSF down to maybe 22 hz.
