haha man that word needed to be brought back. It's been too long.

Which is good because I had two days of catch-up to do.
  7. I wouldn't be worried too much about phase on subwoofers either. Plus, I don't know what amplifier you have, but some have adjustable phase from 0 to 180* (not just a switch between the two). You could use that to even it back out.

Sleeping bags that sleep two people Is there any fishing involved? If not, there should be. That could be your third night's supper. Otherwise I say rough it and go traditional. Baked beans, beef jerky, corn, etc. Also have to take a cast iron skillet (one of the big black ones), that's the best way to cook food while camping. You don't wash it, just wipe it out real good. Each meal becomes more flavorful. Also, for more traditional cooking, dig a hole about 10" in diameter and make a fire in it. Then put two rocks on two of the sides and balance the skillet on them, and there's your cooking surface. We did that last weekend and it's awesome and feels "campy." Also, if you remove the rocks and make a big bonfire for the night over the hole, you can come back in the morning and dig into the hole and there will still be glowing coals that you can use in one of those small bbq grills (about the shape of a basketball) for making breakfast of eggs and sausages in the skillet. Also something we learned last weekend. That was pretty cool.
  9. Scratchy Ba..... I mean American Bass.
  10. Yeah that was most likely a bottoming out event. It could have damaged the coils, but if it was just once it should be ok. Just don't do it again. TURN THE GAIN DOWN.
  11. I'd just run it at 1 ohm. It will last a lot longer.
  12. Can you make new places for it to screw in?
  13. Well hopefully it works. I hadn't even though of using an external hard drive. But at that point it seemed like the easiest thing to do was replace my laptop. It was old anyways and I had the funds (federal tax refund).
  14. I'd also run two 1500s just to be safe.
  15. Adrian has it. Output voltage has nothing to do with input power. His example doesn't even make sense, because he says 160 volts, but that already IS on the output side. So that 3200 output watts, given a 14 volt system and 100% efficiency, would consume 228.5 amps. Give that equation a spin. Also asAdrian said, fuses don't blow instantly. Many take a few seconds of constant current at least, depending on how much the current exceeds the fuse rating. Music, however, is dynamic. Oftentimes the bursts that require more power only last for half a second at most. Therefore, the amp could draw 100 amps through that 60 amp fuse for .5 second and not blow.

If all in ideal enclosures, it would play louder than a BL or Q with the same power. If you were expecting a problem with doing that, then you need to do so more research. It will NEVER hurt a sub to give it less power unless the operator compensates like an idiot with the stupid knob, err gain knob. I've had the rear channels of a kx350.4 on the xxx after I sold the sub amp at a competition. Ive 'burped' it with 750w. Daily use with 500w for over a year. Not a single problem so far. Also took 2000w, an almost square wave for >20 burps with no problem. I'm almost the same. I ran a 12" Nightshade on the rear channels of my 100.4 for a week till I got my 3000D hooked up. ok cool. so it would be fine if i hooked up my jvc 300 watt amp untill i get enough money for a big battery? As Sean has said before, you can put your big amplifier in. Just leave the gain down. You can always limit the output of an amplifier.

Only thing to do is try. If you don't like it you can always put the old box back in.
  18. I say cut them. Even if you have to put the stock speakers back in to sell it at some point, you can just mount the stockies to the MDF then. They don't have to go back into the original place. In fact, with the grill over it nobody would know whether they were mounted on the door panel or metal.

Pic of the catch of the fishing/camping trip (made by me of course). I think he was about 5 lbs, which is pretty good for a farm pond. After I took the pictures and was changing hands to take the hook out, he wriggled and the line snapped and he fell into the water. He got to keep my favorite lure

It plays music? Is there supposed to be some magical power range that it only works to play within? I mean think about it, as you turn the volume up on the head unit, more power goes to the sub. So there is some point on that volume knob where the sub is only receiving 300 watts, even if you have a 2000 watt amp. So it would just be like stopping at that volume level.

Nice work on the kid Sean, that's a lot of hair! I can't believe all those meds didn't work, that would be terrible going through all those efforts.

It went great man..........she is fuckin smart for 2, very much like I have a feeling Sean's child will be. I went on vacation on the 14th back to NY..........It was basically a friends and family vaca so I kept the internet usage to a minimum......I got back into Pheonix Friday evening and met some friends for a trip to Vegas for the weekend. Done decently well at the craps and roulette tables, and didn't lose on the fight last night, so a lil coin in my pocket. Prolly gonna come home with a few other things too.......... J Crabs?
