What size tank do you have? small one, like 6 gallons. The otocinclus only grows to maybe 1.5", and other than that I just have two red tetras that I've had in there for like 8 months. They're also only about 1.5". I just have a small algae problem (have to scrape the glass about every month) because the only place in my townhouse for my tank is in my room and it gets quite a bit of light. Plus I don't have any live plants in there, though a few of those like mini lili pads were in the bag with the oto, so if they multiply then that'll help cut down the nitrogen. But I got the oto because I was bored with the same two fish and thought maybe he'd help my algae. I have some small snails in there, too, but they don't really do anything to it.
  2. Actually, if you had shorts on the power and ground wire on the amp, it may have been pulling a lot of juice from your electrical system. Fuses don't pop right away, a lot of them need high current for a few seconds. What size is the fuse under the hood, and did it pop?

Those red interiors aren't my favorite.

I got a new fish yesterday, an otocinclus, a dwarf algae-eating catfish. He was free from my friend who works at the pet store because of the 50 or so they got in a few days ago, only about 3 survived. So they had already gotten credit back for all of them. Bonus! Not that they're really expensive, like $3.

I have a wedding to go to today, one of my gf's cousins. Not overly excited about that, and I hope they don't have a dance.

My NCAA bracket isn't looking so good. Only 22 out of 32 first round games correct. I think that's the lowest number I've ever gotten. My brother and I have a bet about who has the better bracket. If he wins he gets an ice cream cake and a Mario Little jersey (player for KU), if I win I get the first Star Wars Trilogy. Perhaps all six, though. I love me some Natalie Portman.

right now I'm on three allergy medications- benadryl, a steroid sprayed up my nose, and an antihistamine eye drop. This is ridiculous. I hate medicine. I've never had problems even within 10% of this before.
  8. it sounds like your alternator may be messed up, go have it tested. I'd worry about the electrical of the car before the system.

Now you'll get all the chicks!
  10. I think you'll want to seal off the trunk behind the baffle that holds the subs in the enclosure, because it sounds like you'll have it basically sitting in the middle of your car, and that may cause cancellation with the waves that get into the trunk.
  11. I wouldn't let one bad review get in your way. There's no way for a product to please absolutely everyone. I'm sure there are people who don't like Lamborghinis and Ferraris, either.
  12. I would say that you would most likely gain from upgrading the speakers. I doubt they put very high end stereo equipment in that car, so maybe even a pair of coaxials would be an upgrade. But what you should do first is go out and measure the speaker hole, both for diameter of driver and depth available. Depth is usually the limiting factor in selecting speakers. However, also note if there is any extra room between the speaker and the grill or door panel so that you may be able to put in a spacer to bring the speaker out a little bit to gain some extra room for the depth. What is your budget exactly? You can take a look at crutchfield.com, which has a tool that will allow you to input your car make and model and it will tell you which speakers will fit and at least give you a starting point. My friend has some lower-end pioneer coaxials in his car and they surprised me with how good they sound.

The 12" will also be able to play lower with more output.

it's a myth. Go with what you have room for.

    How could you drive a car with GoodYears? ? ? ? ? ! ! ! ! ! Hey I do. I looooooove them.

That would be insanely incredible to see in person.
  17. Yeah, but unfortunately that's not how it works.

Well now Texas could give Duke fits. I don't think Duke is all they're slated to be this year. But I do find it so funny that their bitch boy Paulus got benched in his senior year.

I'm hoping that means 'dominated'.... Yes sir it does. that's good you think of it that way, because to other people it means a blowjob.
  20. Just be careful with this, most of the time the problem isn't space available in the trunk, it's the size of the opening into the trunk and if the box will fit through the opening. If it won't, your only option is to build it in-trunk, but that's more effort. So how... extactly do i find this out...? lemme guess... theirs some sort of math involved huh? well the first step involves a tape measure and knowing how to pull the tape out and read the numbers. Then you measure how wide the trunk opening is at its most narrow point (usually down next to the bumper). Then you measure the height of the trunk from the floor to the underside of the back deck. Once you have those, you know the limits on the width and height of the box. The depth can be tricky to gauge because you can slide the box in a little bit. For this part it may be best to figure out some box size measurements then build a mock-up with cardboard to see if it'll fit. or at least something with the height and depth the same, it doesn't matter if the width is the same in the mock-up because that one is the easiest to tell.
  21. Thanks that helps me a lot... now someone told me that i should set my LHP around the same Hz as my box. What would that do? nope they were probably talking about your ssf (subsonic filter- this ensures that you dont kill ur sub with freq below port tuning) like he said set your lpf..low pass filter to somewhere blow 100hz i set mine around 100 since you your sub to play bass in its range a sub's normally 20 - 100 , its all preference set it to where your music's enjoyable..btw ..do you knw how to set ur gains ?? Yea ive been reading a lot of different things about the gains, but what do u say about it, and some people been tellin me that the HPF Should be set as low as it go which is around 20Hz because that puts words playin through the sub, but some people on here say to set it around 28 - 30 Hz. What could u tell me about that. Those people don't know their highpass from their lowpass. your subsonic filter is a highpass, then there is a separate lowpass crossover on the amp. if you have that lowpass off or set too high (higher than a few hundred hz), then you'll hear voices through the sub. The subsonic should be set to 25-30 hz. Nobody I know can sing at 25 hz, ha.
  22. haha that's funny.

i'm batting a 1000 so far, but damn wku vs il is about to change that..lol..damnit. next round is going to be the big upsets i think...maybe wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee I picked western kentucky! Just like last year. But my other upset pick, Miss. St over washington, fell through. 14/16 so far, not awful. Too bad you missed out on the million dollar prize for the perfect bracket. You'd think, statistically speaking, that somebody would have to get it eventually. But the odds are pretty low and I've never heard of it happening. In fact the odds would be .5^64, which is about .00000000000000000005, or 5 in fifty trillion million I think. Well, maybe the bracket sponsors are pretty safe with their million dollars after all, ha.

Well yeah it is. I would just hope you'd aspire to greater things than sandwich making. Which, somebody has to do, I understand. I'm thankful for them whenever I go into Subway. But whenever I see a middle-aged person behind the counter (which happens probably 75% of the time for me), I just can't help but think about how they're getting by.
  25. Well the crossover won't completely stop frequencies outside of the crossover point from playing. It's not a brick wall to the frequencies, it's just a slope. So it'll be quieter outside of the crossover range but still play.
