  1. It's the age. Most 14 year olds are like that. Almost nobody is secure at that age.
  2. And what do lyrics have to do with subwoofers ? I think he just meant he doesn't want the sub's level to overpower the interior speakers so that he could still hear them.
  3. Oh, well I wouldn't know about those then. That's before my time. But JBL was one of the first brands I saw when I got into the game like 8 years ago and I thought the "new" GTIs had that look back then. but maybe not.

damn intestine ache stopped me from getting some last night
  5. there is a theoretical 1.5 db increase due to cone area increase and maybe 1 or 2 more due to efficiency increase in the 18s. So maybe about 3 db.

Ah you got the boring job. At least you have a radio. You know it wasn't until like 10 years ago they started putting those into tractors and things. My uncle just got laid off of his custom harvesting job. The boss used to employ a dozen people and leased 5-6 harvesters a year and now he says he's downsizing to just him and his son. No warning, and my uncle isn't sure if he'll get paid for the last month. sucky. Now he's applying at a John Deere dealership.
  7. Hold in too much sound? What do you mean by that? Bandpass boxes are more efficient than ported or sealed, so they will get louder. But the tradeoff is usually a smaller playable frequency range. So it depends on what you mean by hold in sound.
  8. And maybe delete the filter that changes Jim's name? haha.
  9. holy crap.
  10. site is down for maintenance so I can't see. There's a surprise.
  11. If you use the full 8v it's possible. but you don't have to make it send 8v. That's just the upper limit that the line driver can put out.

Just finished watching The Ruins. It was not scary like I wanted. Quite disappointed, actually, because it was really just gruesome. I want some scary stuff, but not stuff like a dude chopping off a leg in graphic nature. That's not my thing. I'm too squeamish to watch that.
  13. 4 way speakers? how do those 10 tweeters up front sound? Screaming at you?
  14. No. Everything is placed where it is for a reason. These are Squirrel cage fans and are blowing straight down the heat sink fins. The air comes out the blower not the top. If you look at the last picture on page one you will see a little vent on the side of the boat right beneath where the windshield ends. These fans pick up cool air from where the vent comes in and blows it down the fins of the amplifiers. You would be blown away if you could feel how much air these fans move. Kachina has built a lot of boats and they have never seen fans work like this before. This is the best place for fans on Sundown amps. Trust me... ah, I see the fan outputs now. When I first glanced at the picture I thought they just blew air straight out from the picture.
  15. Aren't those fans kind of in a worthless spot? Unless the amps are in a little holed-off area that I can't see very well, I'd think they'd be useless since they aren't blowing over the heat sinks.

But really, why wouldn't you have him on the bench. He had gained, what, like 120 yards total in their first 3 games? Though he does always do really well against the Broncos, and with Damon Huard starting over Thigpen I may have given Grandma-ma the nod since they at least had a chance to move the ball through the air that way. But yeah Edwards and Johnson have underachieved so far. I think Steve Smith will be getting back on track, he sorta did this weekend.
  17. Exactly. So much oversuing is a problem in this country. The company will make that money back one way or another, that's for sure, and usually by passing the buck on to the next consumer. Insurance rates are higher across the board from this too. If it seriously was a negligence on walmart's part, sue for medical bills and lost wages and maybe a g or two for the pain. As Jim said, it's not their responsibility to pay off your debt.
  18. Actually, hopefully a box of better grammar!

wow super slow hop this work day.
  20. I think they're mainly to keep balance/fade controls. Otherwise we may as well all just be using a mono amp for all of our speakers. But you can basically think of each channel as its own mono amp. That's oversimplified, but maybe helps you understand.
  21. Pay off my roughly 25k in student loans, put about 50k towards a down payment for a house, and the other 25k into a retirement account.

My stepdad put a rebuilt 454 in his old chevy and it gets about......4.5 mpg. My dad's '97 F150 doesn't do too great though, unfortunately. Only like 14 mpg on the highway. He did have 305/70/16's on it, though. But it may be better since he did a tune up, I haven't talked to him about it. It has the smaller V8 engine in it. 4.6 liter I think.

Yeah I've made plenty of them. The last time we left the mechanic shop with her SUV (3 weeks ago) the desk attendant said thanks for coming in, and I said "No problem, we'll see you next time, probably in a few weeks."

well the gf's blazer broke down again yesterday. We were on the way back to her house and were in a left turn lane when it just died. Tried restarting it probably 30 times, and about half the time it would start but immediately die even if the pedal was pressed. She called Triple A and it took an hour and 15 minutes for the tow truck operator to get there. All the while people were passing us left and right (literally left and right, about 1/3 passed us in the oncoming traffic lane to our left). Some honked at us and others just sat behind us, and I'm just like um, are you retarded? Do you not understand what hazard signals mean? One guy even pulled up next to us and suggested we turn the hazards on and I'm like, um....they are. I even walked back there at least 3 times to make sure they were working because people kept acting like they weren't on. Then through all this we counted 6, yes 6, police cars drive right by us without stopping. Finally the 7th one did (5 minutes before the tow arrived) and turned on his lights for us since people were obviously too moronic to understand that they have to go around us. There wasn't anywhere to push the thing to off the road, either. So....that was fun. yep. I was hoping to do that on my saturday night.

Really out of RPMs? wow. I had an '88 cavalier with the 2.8 V6, even a 3 speed, and got it to 115 when I wanted to slow down. So that surprises me.
