I feel ya man. Seems like its always something. I do not have the easy to access hole in the firewall like M5 does and I own the same year truck both EC and both z71. I don't even have a drill bit big enough for the 1/0 so I'm going to have to get a unibit, and I am considering running the Power wire under the truck because its damn dear impossible to get a drill bit in a descent spot on the firewall. On a good note though, box is on the way and seat lift is on the way! Still need an Icon... Sean, is your truck LT? I would go under the truck.... I'm almost thinking about it and I CAN go through the firewall. I think the 1/0 will look sloppy under the carpet. Have you thought about/tried under the door jam deal? I have a 98 explorer and it surprised the heck out of me that my 1/0 would fit under there and it would still snap down.

U change ur oil? I figure I only need to do that if I put it in the crankcase. I do change my oil myself, but I have to wait until I go back to my hometown so I can use my dad's automotive shop. That's a little over 3 hours away so I don't do it often anymore now that I'm out of college.

Welcome to the IHoP
drove home from work today with only one contact because my right one was bugging the ever living shit out of me so I threw it away at lunch. I thought it was going to be more difficult than it actually was because my eyesight is really bad. Things start getting blurry about 2.5 inches from my face. It's really weird, though. the last couple times I've put in new contacts, the right one will last about 2-3 weeks then just go to crap, getting all dry feeling, blurry, and just hurting. I'll switch it out for another brand I have leftover from a few years ago and everything is peachy for the rest of the two months. My left eye never bothers me like that, and it's the same brand and all. Something about my right eye makes it not like that brand I guess. All I know is I really want Lasik now.

Welcome to the IHoP
was hoping to get to bed early cuz I was up almost two hours past my bedtime last night rescuing my gf out in the country 30 minutes away when her Blazer (ahem) wouldn't start after work. But I guess that didn't happen. dammit.

Welcome to the IHoP
I seafoamed Midnight Explorer's intake tonight. Even though it has 165,000 miles I was pretty sure the engine was pretty clean anyways, and I didn't gain much by doing it. But I wanted to try it. maybe gained 1/20th of a second in rev time and 2% better idling and rev smoothness. I'll try it in the gas tank later in the week. Not expecting much there, either, though, at least in terms of MPG boost. I'm already getting about 4 (20%) above EPA highway mileage on my commute to work. Right at EPA for highway with only a 75/25 highway ratio. My in-town is killer, though. Get 1 mpg less than rated even with good technique. So that's kinda weird. I was a little worried at first because of the maybe 1 in 20 stories I'd hear about the seafoam messing up sensors, plugging cat converters, causing oil leaks if put into crankcase because the carbon buildup is what was holding the seals together, etc. But I decided what the hey and tried it. Not sure I want to put it in my crankcase for that reason, though. I don't have any oil leaks and it doesn't burn oil, and I'd like it to stay that way. Don't fix what isn't broken, right? I have just a bare minimum amount of tap but I don't think it's cause for concern at all. It idles smooth as ice. Not glacier ice, though. That's pretty jagged.

I hate that. It's almost always a camaro or firebird, from what I've seen. I think that is the dumbest mod ever. What is the point?

shopping for audio for a party bus.
What's the interior going to look like - will there be any other places you could build speakers into (and hide wires, etc...)? I'm thinking something like Radian in-wall speakers, maybe three on each side. Now that you posted that, I like that better. Sorry Shizzam. I mean on. 3-4 6.5's and tweets on each side. I still like the 18 though

I was thinking the same thing. Like some 18's in a big ported box. And some PA-style mids & highs, too. Like a 10" and a horn, or something.

who has a better amp
ok. well I trust you. I'll admit I have secondhand knowledge of American Bass, but the first hand was from a very well respected and knowledgable equipment tester/installer. A few years ago he said they were cheap power with an emphasis on cheap. I think there was some kind of little saying, like Scratchy Bass (instead of american bass) because they didn't produce clean power. But maybe they've changed since then. I imagine so if it's the same as the IA 40.1. That's a very well respected amp.

is it really necessary to quote every post if you guys are just talking back and forth and are posting directly under each other's post? It makes the page very long.

would a cap be good for me..
If they were marketed properly, people might understand better. But then they wouldn't sell nearly as many.

Give me your opinions on vehicles
My sister-in-law has a TC, and I just think it's ok. Pretty ugly IMO, but the interior is fairly solid feeling. One of my friends has a Mazda 6, and I think it's pretty good. I only rode in it for about 1 minute though. Crossfires look cool, aside from being a bit small. Have you checked insurance on all these yet? I figure the Crossfire would be the highest. That might be something to consider as well. I think Altimas look good. Never driven/ridden in one though. Your tastes for what looks good may be different than mine though. And like has been said, don't get something if you really don't want it. If even the smallest thing goes wrong it's a lot easier to start hating your car if you didn't quite like it as much in the first place. But for me, if I really like the style and feel, I forgive those hiccups and remain happy a lot easier.

Get bigger power wire for sure

that kinda saddens me.

I want a sub with better SQ and spl
anything will sound better than the L7. IIRC, they aren't very efficient, either, so many things will be louder as well. Was the Kicker sealed or ported? What were the specs on the box?

anything but american bass

College football
Oh, you know they will. To those people a win is a win and the preseason polls are pretty concrete as long as you keep winning, no matter how you do it. I don't understand the UGA drop, though. That goes against things.

Welcome to the IHoP
The two on the right I can tell are 1N4744 diodes and I can find replacements easily. But the ones on the left only say A on them. Any ideas on those? NVM- found out a "744" just peeking out of the bottom of one that I can see. so they must all be the same.

Welcome to the IHoP
The Crossfire VR404 didn't like something. woke up this morning and it wasn't on, so I went back and the power light would slowly come on, then snap off. Then slowly come on, then snap off. etc. It was a cool night and my other two amps were cold, but this one was burning hot after only a 10 minute drive at very low volume. So I unhooked it and opened it up, and this is what I found: Sorry the second is a little blurry. Looks like four diodes let out some black smoke, though they don't seem breached themselves. Maybe I'll try to replace them. I only had the amp on some stock speakers. Maybe I blew one of them and protection on the amp didn't work? But, I'm not sure I care too much. I may just want a bigger 4 channel amp so that I only have 2 amps instead of 3, since I have 6 channels of amplification right but only four speakers to power. Anybody have a 100x4 amp to sell? I would also trade my Planet Audio TT2300 (2 x 150 @ 4 ohms) if you wanted it.
