  1. I take it your battery bank is in the back cargo area as well? If so, just wire both grounds to it. Are your amps really spaced that far apart?

If you just like the sound of XBL^2, you can get a Stereo Integrity Mag brand new for 250. I think Ascendant Audio uses it in their line as well.
  3. looks nice. Are those kick panels custom made or did you find them somewhere? Are they sealed or open in the back?
  4. I don't understand why power handling is such a good thing. If another sub can do the exact same thing but with only 500 watts instead of 2400, why wouldn't you want that? and yeah.......wait this one out.

yeah wtf? Looks like it's gonna lightly rain all day. Just fine with me! Temp is going to hover around 70. Awesome for early August..... I'm on another 3 day weekend right now because I worked 17 hours on Wednesday. I love getting Fridays off because I already have enough hours.
  6. did you remember to sand the paint off the points where you grounded to the body?
  7. oh. You'll just need a recone then. Send it back and ask for a dual 2 ohm recone (or have them send you the recone kit and you can do it yourself if you feel comfortable). Most recones are in the 60-100 range I think, plus shipping. I'm not sure what FIs is.
  8. How do you have your RCAs ran? You say you get the same loudness whether faded all the way front or back. Does that mean your fronts play when the fade is all the way back? Or the front components are the same loudness as the rear mids (lowpassed at 700 hz, correct?) when faded to their respective positions? If you don't have the crossover specs for the passives on your front stage, email ID and see what they say. There's a chance they left a large gap between what the two speakers get that may be cutting your midrange. and as M5 suggested, run some test tones to see exactly where the problem is occuring. Does the sound get better when you have only the fronts playing? Maybe since those rears are crossed at 700, they are kind of overpowering the lower midrange area, leaving the higher midrange sound like it's lacking. What are the crossover ranges on that amp? If they go high enough you may be able to try running active with it. Also, as far as phasing, definitely try swapping + and - on individual speakers one at a time. It won't hurt a thing. Many people do that and keep the left and right fronts out of phase. Depending on the acoustics of the vehicle, it's possible to quite drastically increase response. On my last car I believe I found that midbass was the best when the left rear and right front mids were out of phase with the other two.
  9. I would guess you have dual 1 ohm coils? Just wire the voice coils in series instead of parallel and you'll get your 2 ohms.
  10. If the first response was correct, why do you need more?? pretty much. I read it earlier and thought about responding, but there was nothing to say that would be any more correct.

taking a trip down to near Dodge City tomorrow. Will either be another long day or a 2 day event because it's a 4 hour drive one-way. I'm hoping for a long day so I can take Friday off again. and I have to get up at 6:20 to make it to work to leave, so I should really go to sleep. I'm already deprived.
  13. oh, just kidding. you're all stuck with me. I like it here.
  14. I won't be here. In fact, I think I'll leave now.

Gas was only 3.57 in eastern Topeka on my way home from work, which is 10 cents cheaper than here (at comparitive stations). So I was like sweet, I'll save 1.70 and get it here. But I pull up and this lady is like excuse me sir, can you spare a dollar for gas? fudge. fine, here, now go away. a minute later her man came and asked the same thing. No, I already gave her a dollar, so you go get a job. Blew my savings on your stupid bum ass. Not going to that station again. Everybody there looked like a winner They asked everybody that came around. I hate people like that.

but hey, at least it's supposed to get 5 degrees cooler everyday this week, culminating in a high of like 78 for Friday!

I read through about 2/3 of the first page on that thread and it just reinforced why I would never be a member there......
  18. In that case I would get two Focal Utopias in a sealed enclosure, or maybe an Aura NS or two I was actually looking at the focal 33wx but at 600 watts they are as powerful as i would like but the re. of 3.3 ohms is well...yea If you're worried about sounding good, power handling should be the last thing that's on your mind. agreed. I don't know what you mean to say by stating the Re. All 4 ohm subs have an Re around there.
  19. The box you suggested (6 cubes at 32 hz) will work. However, it will likely not handle all 2000 watts from that amp, so be careful. You'll most likely be above the mechanical as well as thermal power handling capabilities.
  20. I'd run the coils in series for 2 ohms and "just" get 1500 watts for daily use, then when comp time comes, wire the coils in parallel for .5 ohms and get the extra power boost. That way you'll have less strain on your electrical for daily. It will still be plenty loud, trust me.

Got back my blood tests from my physical for work. My cholesterol is low, at 135. Normal is 145-200 I guess? So that's good. And my lung breathing test came up good, averaged 110% of predicted. So I guess my lungs and blood vessels are good. Had some chemical things come up a little high or low but some are abbreviated or acronyms that aren't explained so I don't know what they are. Bun, A/G ratio, and Iron are high. My glucose, RBC, and HCT were lower than expected.

Went to the Power and Light district in downtown Kansas City last night. Maybe one or two of you have heard of it. It's......outrageous. There is sort of a central courtyard with a bunch of bars surrounding it on 2 levels. By 10:00 all the bars had lines 30 minutes long outside all of them, everything was packed. Alcohol prices were unbelievable. My friend opened tabs at two bars and by the end of the night spend 220 dollars on something like 6 beers, 2 mixed drinks, and 10 shots. Each shot was over $10. Not really my kind of place, I'll probably never go back. It was kinda fun, and maybe the crazy heat made it worse for me. I was sweating standing in line.

I asked my gf if she knew what that was. She was like no, why would I? I said because you know somebody that is. After I told her about it her eyes got big and she was like OMG, that's my brother! I just said yep......

You can't put anything in for vent mach because it's a product of things, not an input.
