Decisions Decisions
How about one FI BL 15" (not sure how much they cost). Just do a mock-up of the box with cardboard before building the real one to make sure it will fit into the trunk. Lots of problems with those openings.

forgot which is negtive and postive.
While I agree with this for the tuning process, I think for the basiline you should start with everything in phase. Then make adjustments from there to determine best sound.

the BOX
inch is fine. I'd pretty much listen to anything 95Honda has to say.

Q 12D2 power handling
I'd say 1000. The box you use may even lower that.

Need new amp
the crossfire. I don't know where you got it to be .5 ohm stable, but all the info I've seen on it is that it's 1000x1 @ 4 ohms, 2000x1 @ 2 ohms.

Welcome to the IHoP
Oh god. I had one in the window well of my basement room in my mom's house when I went back there last week. Drove me crazy. I'd tap on the window and it'd shut up for a minute. Sometimes that was long enough for me to fall back asleep so I wouldn't notice it for a while and wake up again. Shoulda just went outside and stomped the damn thing.

Welcome to the IHoP
I've had avatars and sigs off for a couple months now Yeah I've had sigs off ever since I started coming back here a few months ago. But I rather enjoyed the girl avatars

Problem with getting my 15" Fi Q to sound right.
By the looks of your last picture it looks like your port is firing directly into the side of the cabin like 1 inch away. Is that true? Could be an issue with that. The port might like a little more room in front of it. But you said you put it on the profile amp and it sounded better?

6ch Amps
A/D/S used to make them. Haven't checked them out in a while though. Matter of fact...... http://forum.carstereos.org/fs-adire-braham-t68032.html Two extra channels even!

Need new amp
I'm sorry to say, but if your lights aren't dimming on a stock alt on a pt cruiser (which I would assume is less than 100 amps), even with a second battery, you aren't getting anywhere near 6000 watts out of those amps. If you were getting a true 6000 watts your lights should more or less shut off completely when the bass hit. I'd get a 2000 watt @ 2 ohm amp. No need to run it at .5 ohms. That'll just hurt your electrical system even more.

"Advice"
Think before you speak. Don't be so damn selfish, a lot of times giving a little ground saves so much stress that you wouldn't believe. Admit when you're wrong and move on. It's seriously not as bad as you think it is. BE HONEST. Think in terms of the other person. If you were in their situation, how would you wish to be treated or responded to in a situation? Calm the hell down. There's seriously nothing that a fight will solve if both parties will just use their brains and stop acting like morons. Cool heads will prevail. As someone once said, "Once I've lost control of my voice, I've lost the argument." Drive the speed limit and slow down in bad weather. There is no reason to go 70 when the road is covered in rain or snow, you'll find yourself in the ditch faster than you can blink. Echoing what somebody else said above, find the right girl and use your head about it. If things are shady, just give it up and forget her. Don't use the excuse of being afraid of being alone to stay with somebody. BE SELF CONFIDENT. But don't be arrogant.

HORRIBLE LUCK!!! Power issue

Need help selecting a sub
you wouldn't need a second amp if you got 2 of either of the stereo integrity offerings. The Mag is rated 600-1000 watts I think, and the BM is 200-600. 1200 would be perfect for a pair of BMs or a single Mag and either choice would keep you under 300 dollars. But if you want an Icon or Q, that's cool too. But I don't know much about either driver. Obviously heard lots of good things.

More than likely you won't see anywhere near 8-10 db more from a ported enclosure unless you build a fart cannon. You'll likely see about 3 db with the tuning frequency you'll want to use. Also, if you use two 12's sealed in the same airspace as one 12 ported, the results will likely be about even.

mounting question
no, not all crossovers have the same crossover points or ranges if talking about active. Likewise, not all sets of speakers (mid and tweet pair) will sound good on the same crossover points. If you go active you'll have to just test things out and change them up to find where they sound the best while also providing good protection for the speakers. If you go active you'll need one amplifier channel for each speaker. If you go passive you can put a mid + tweet on the same amplifier channel. But since you're going DIY, it will take more effort and skill to select the right components to make a passive crossover that will fit your speakers well. You should use a computer program to help with a passive crossover. You can buy off-the-shelf passives but they likely won't be ideal for the speakers you're using.

Welcome to the IHoP
No bites in 1.25 hours of fishing this morning. I've had to turn off avatars because of some people's (ahem) inappropriate-for-work pictures or animations (not that I'm really complaining). Now it's harder for me to tell who is talking, I'm used to just looking at avatars and knowing.

Floor Standing speakers.
you don't add power together for different speaker types because they are playing different frequencies. So the power handling of the tweeter is still 50 and the mids are still 60 apiece. Which you will be overpowering the tweeter. For multiple speakers of the same type, however, yes you do add their power handling together. So your two mids could handle 120 watts between them. Luckily most tweeters are more efficient than the mids so the power difference and the efficiency should about even out. You can also get an L-pad for the tweeter to turn its level down, or build some attenuation into the crossover if you deem it needed.

I agree. Though I might suggest 2 of the BMs instead of the Mag if you can handle the cone area of two 12's. Should get a little louder and might handle the 1200 watts a little better than a single mag. and I think they'll only be 150 shipped each when they come out in a couple weeks. With your music choice I'm surprised you want a ported enclosure. I'm also surprised you looked at DD with your music choice. FI Q would be good though.

mounting question
active or passive crossovers? Active would be easier because it is more simple to change crossover points while you listen. You'll have to buy a 2-way crossover, one that will at least put a low pass on the mid and a high pass on the tweeter. Audiocontrol is one of the most famous active crossover brands. As for tweeters, I don't mind my JL XR tweets (even though I'm more of a silk guy). I haven't had much experience with other metal tweets though.

Looking for a set of components to run off kicker 150.2
Try to find some more money. 100 doesn't go far for good components. Otherwise I'd say just go to your local shops and listen to some there so that you get what you want. Pioneer's budget line isn't too bad. I think Kicker makes a line around there that isn't bad either (though I personally don't care for Kicker). Might be able to find some JL Audio VR's for that, they're good (and use the silk dome too, I believe).
