I can't beleive the sound of these 660gti's with 1160w rms on them the Tsunami Katana Series RCA's and 12 gage twisty were a nice upgrade to....a huge difference just rediculous......

I play with my X over settings with the change in music......I like a higher setting of 100hz with some heavy metal because it brings out some of the upper freq in the speed drums and makes them hit alot harder but most of the time I'm in the 65hz or 80hz setting the power handling drops with a higher x over setting- Thumppers Ford Windstar Ground Pounder
the set up is so far past rediculous it isn't even funny...the whole side of the van looks like a water fall with all the flex... it stays with in 1/2 db from 28hz up to 42hz (a very very flat response) the 3.50cf3 would be minimal enclosure size for the 15" IMO..I'll be going to 5.0cf3 per sub next- Michael Jackson =
it makes me sick to my stomach watching the hipocrits in the media act all depressed after capitalizing on all the molestation accusations... if there was even the smallest shread of evidence he would have spent his last years in jail he was the best at what he did before and after all the crap...no one will ever top what he did for the music industry..I have been a fan of his music since the mid 1970's..he has my respect rest in peace MJ- 12" Dcon common chamber flared port
good to hear....- SSA XCON 15D2 x2 = 163.1db
my enclosure is a little on the small side and tuned flat...it isn't very mic friendly and it peaks out to high I'll be making a new enclosure with 10cf3 per chamber vs the 7.0cf3 I am running now but it will be more of a wall configuration...I am above the window line as it is anyways- SSA XCON 15D2 x2 = 163.1db
they must like 41hz ........that's the freq my Xcons peak at- Reveiw of my Quad 15" Xcons
so I got my 15" Xcons installed and enough play time for a bit of break in.. first thing I gotta say is they are really tight and accurate.. I was expecting a bit of boomy ness (like most 15's) but I was supprized with almost no note over lap and really clean sounding speed drums that IMO are less muddy than the 10" Icons were..I found a new appreciation with all my favorite metal (Judas Preist,Motley Crue,Megadeath exc...) the tight bass guitar riffs and kick drums slip in and out flawlessly regardless of volume level and the note seperation is distinctive by tone...a very musical characteristic the power handling is excellent also.....I was able to shread every woofer I had on this amp untill now....the only problem now is how hard I want it to pound- Four 10" Icon enclosure (termlab Video...143.6 @ 10hz)
those Icon 10's are an insane low end woofer....- xcon v.s fibtl
the Xcons sound much better musically at high volume levels than the BTL's (by a long shot) it's hard to say the BTL's will burp louder...the specs say so but the in car performance speaks differently personally I would take the SQ of the Xcon- Thumppers Ford Windstar Ground Pounder
these subs combined with the Crown power are just friggin un beleivable the sound quality of them is really starting to come out- icons for spl......
I would try tuning them at around 38-40hz with a 2.25cf3 common chamber- team ssa
I burped a 147 with my subs brand new out of the box and run down batteries with an amp that was shutting down from voltage drop......I gained at least 3db over the last couple weeks of break in and I still have the Electrical to deal with my system is tuned for a flat response.... I want my system to wow people with tightness and detail VS numbers- So Anyways.... (pic inside)
I grabbed one of those hanging flower pots and was going to rip it down... the wire strap broke and whipped back slapping me in the back of the hand and cut about 3/4" deep right between my knuckles (almost right thru my hand) got 4 stitches out of the deal......wasn't much blood but it was a good meat shot...LOL- Thumppers Ford Windstar Ground Pounder
not much progress...I have the head liner out and will be working on the sound deadening when I get the time..I am running a single pair of the 660's and moving the tweeters around on the pillars..I'll be making the pillar pods once I get the imaging I want..I alo have somewhat of a template for the rear amp rack cover..nothing pic worthy at the moment- DD 3512 common chamber flared port
- ~~ SSA Protoype super8 ~~
I wonder how 4 of those babies would do off of a Crown BPX 2200.1 set up as midbass....LOL- Team Stickers :)
not a problem..... these Xcons are friggin insane BTW...I have a brace from the floor to the roof between the 2nd row seats untill the B-Quiet shows up this is what it's like listening to Heavy Metal now...... supprizingly I'm thinking these things are much tighter on the speed drums than my 10" Icons were there is nothing muddy or sloppy about them in the slightest- lets have somne fun wife/girfriend
I am in the same boat....my wife does listen to my system and she knows my hobby brings the bacon to the table so I am some what safe my 9 year old daughter is really into it to....she knows how to operate Termpak and she knows my do's and do not's in enclosure construction...LOL- 12" Dcon common chamber flared port
it will work..the port noise may or may not appear..........but it will no doubt out perform a prefab- 12" Dcon common chamber flared port
just bought 2 FI BLs to go in this box.now i need I hope you do realize this enclosure was designed and tuned for Dcons.... the port velocity will be alot bit higher with the BL's excursion and the tuning will be off- XCON Enclosure recommendations?
I'm running my Xcon 15" with 3.50cf3 per sub at the moment...it does seem a little on the small side but wholly crap the bass guitar strings are elastic band tight I listen to alot of metal and these subs really deliver.....- ok wow
it was driving me nuts as well...I'm back to the old skin- CA Glue for recone... but whay kinda ca glue?
I have used the CA glue with the activator in the past along with a few others but when the results are the same in the end at 1/2 the price I'll stick with the Prosound product they all work..it's just personall preference - Icon or Xcon
