  1. It's 22" come on... Someone do the math, how much area is that? And 8500w to boot? The new one is rediculous. 400lbs? Most of it is frame!! Am i wrong? I calculated the surface area of the 24" to be 48sqft? If they hit anything below 150 with that much area, i'm gonna break someone. 48 square feet? With a 2' x 2' square sub? Hmm........I'm going to say 4 square feet. No sleep the night before.... I did 24" x 24" = 576 576"/12" = 48ft Theoretically, with all that surface area, imagine (4) 24's in a suburban or walled in a truck or something @ rms tuned @ ~26hz
  2. What are all the statuses? (newbie, members ect).
  3. Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicavolcanoconiosis.... Longest word in the english language.
  4. No such thing as underpowering. Clipping, however, can be dangerous.
  5. Hey, while we're on the topic, whats up with SSA search? Ill search something and it will bring back seemingly random results, posts that contain the word, but maybe not in the right context. Idk i just found it confusing. I know, our schools network was gettin funky yesterday, and i was too lazy to google it on my Wii.
  6. *sigh* The problem we have with the church audio setup is that, while it sounds good from the tech booth, it is spotty, like, good spots all over the room, but not consistently. We are trying to get as even a soundstage as possible, throughout the room. If those programs are the only answers i guess its out of the question, it's not in the budget,.
  7. No such thing as underpowering, and "full potential" is too broad a term. Potential for what? Music? Comp? More details. No help can be provided til then. Is your BTL D1 or D2?
  8. I would rather have an LMS-5400 any day.....

  10. http://www.mtx.com/caraudio/products/subwoofers/jackHammer24sq.cfm Maybe this one will be used more appropriately. In the pimp my ride where they installed the original jackhammer, a 22" woofer on 8500w only hit 130dB.
  11. Oh i didn't even think of that I saw it the first time it was on the show, way back when. Thanks, i'll definitely check it out later.
  12. Damn school comps! It wont let me veiw it...says IE can't display. Edit: I'll try again once I get home.
  13. Nope. I was wanting to buy one, but isn't it like seven bills? Is there a such thing as audio insurance? Or do i have to be happy with a warranty?
  14. A human being's terminal velocity is ~120mph By no means, am I saying it wasn't crazy. It's on my to-do list.
  15. 155mph in my buddies Subaru WRX (rode, felt like the car was lifting off the ground).
  16. I need to find a super detailed diagram of every part of the average woofer. I can't figure out how to use search on SSA, maybe i'm slow, but time is of the essence. Does anyone have a link, or a link to a thread with one?
  17. Sweet, I think i'll pick it up around my birthday..... 12 days Ordering the book soon, Could someone throw me a quick idea of what the woofer does at tuning? why does it move less, but produce the same, if not more sound? I understand it a little, but i don't know how to say it quite right. Thanks, Chris
  18. SpeakerBoy replied to japix's topic in Fi Products
Peak power is bullstuff* that crappy companies came up with to make their woofers sound better. Burp power is different. Which are you looking for?
  19. i cant edit my first post? Arrgh... I think i was a little vague, but i was asking for a 12-14cuft box, with lots of bracing, no carpet, and a removable port, run? simple T-shaped ported box. I will try and dig up an eclipse's max dimensions, since i cant measure it myself.
