active setup with JVC AVX-1
I am looking to build a DIY 6.5 component set to set up in my car after I deaden the doors. I was thinking of using the Mli-65 mid but wasn't sure on the tweeter maybe these tang bands http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cf...tnumber=264-840 My real question was, regardless of components I pick, what is the best way to cross them over? I have a HPF option on the JVC HU at 55hz, 85hz, and 125hz, then my alpine amp has a HP/LP filter from 50-400hz.

5.25 inch vs 6.5 inch components
oh gotcha, i see what you meant by that. to be specific, I lack midbass EXACTLY in the bassline of billie jean, almost can't hear it. The kick drum and vocals are perfect, but bassline fades away.

5.25 inch vs 6.5 inch components
I'm not sure what you mean by "off the shelf" components? I wasn't planning on buying separates from madisound or partsexpress. I was figuring that a set of CDT's Euro series or a JBL power series installed in a sealed, deadened door.

5.25 inch vs 6.5 inch components
I am beginning to look a good component pair to put into my factory 5x7 location after I sound deaden in a couple weeks. First, Does anyone think I can fit 6.5 woofers into a Ford Focus 5x7 hole without much fabrication (meaning adapter plate or MDF ring). If I can't fit a 6.5, how much is lost by going to a 5.25 inch set? I am really lacking midbass now with the 5x7 type-r coax's that came with the car. Hoping that sound deadening and a decent set of components will fix that up. I will be powering the set with an Alpine MRP-F450 (70wrmsx4, or 200wrmsx2 bridged).

First Build - 2000 Accord
Beautiful box and nice sound deadening. Two critiques A) Sell the cap, esp if you are doing the Big 3 AND a new alt. There should be no need for it. use the money towards a good amp, if you're going to the 2 BL set up. B) mount the amp somewhere different, or get some DARK tint on your rear window. I don't know where you live, but my stuff would be gone in .5 seconds if I rode with an amp on the rear deck. EDIT: I am dumb, saw the folded seat and thought it was the read deck haha. Amp isn't visible to thieves unless they have X-ray vision!! Just some thoughts. Good luck with it

Enclosure/Sub placement questions
Your mixing sub sizes? I'm no expert, but I thought that was a big no-no for reasons my mind can't comprehend.

what Amp for polk sub
for 159 you could get this Kicker ZX300.1 provided your sub is dual 4 ohms and you wire it to 2ohms or for 50 dollars more they have the zx400.1 http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseac...Product_ID=3962

sounddeadening front doors
I was looking to hit my doors as well. So about 8-10 Sqft should cover them with two layers

battery or capacitor
I say battery, never ran a multi battery system. But I just uninstalled the capacitor that came with my new car, I think it sounds better without.

Most impressed you've ever been with a stereo?
first REAL system I heard, was my friends 2 10 Memphis PR's in the back of civic in a good big ported box. Was really impressed, till I bought my Mag haha.

help with HT sub box.
I think 4" would be plenty. I messed around with our home theater sub and its floor clearance. Anything over 4ish didnt make much difference

Diet Pills
thanks for that great info chad. these diet and fat loss pills should never be used as the sole source to lose weight. Rather they are SUPPLEMENTS that when used in combination with a good nutrition program and exercise regime can increase effectiveness safely. ---------------- Now playing: Jedi Mind Tricks Feat. Proper form.
Knees going past toes on squats is not that big of a deal nor is bending forward SLIGHTLY. Depends on your body mechanics. here is an interesting article written by someone way smarter than me http://www.t-nation.com/readArticle.do?id=1767210 ---------------- Now playing: Pink Floyd - [The Wall (Disc 2) #01] 01 - Hey You

Diet Pills
I like ALRI's Venom Hyperdrive 3.0. Label says work up to 2 caps/day, but I only took one in the morning. Very little jittery feeling, just warmer than usual and quite awake. ---------------- Now playing: Pink Floyd - [The Wall (Disc 1) #11] 11 - Don't Leave Me Now

Getting some new subs
It's not that im not happy with any parts of it. I just never really had another decent set-up and wanted to see how something else sounds (wow it sounds like im talking about a girl here). Maybe looking for a little more punch in rock. It sounds awesome with rap and techno, but seems to lack a little quick punch and tends to sound boomier with rock music.

Proper form.
well then dont show them this freak of nature, Konstantine Konstanov. antithesis of picture perfect form, but hey it works for him.I think probably the most common problem is that people try to squat the weight up. This leads to hips being too low, forcing lower back curve. Teaching someone how to arch the back properly is priceless. Due to limb length and other stuff, some people just need to almost stiff leg it up, while others can drop hips really low.

The King Of All Upper Body Exercises by TheWeightWatcher of CYV
don't forget the sumo deadlifts, I need to get back into the swing of deads. Lately I've been trying to bring my upper body up to par. Last time I did heavy deads was over the summer, 330x3. not too bad for weighing 150. wanna hit 400 this summer

Suppliment, workouts questions
I would recommend first getting a good nutrition plan set aside with 4-6 meals per day of high protein, low fat, high carb(whole grains). Also for one of those meals, preferably post workout, I would take just a regular old scoop of whey (or two, what ever gets you to ~40grams of protein) with water. I am drinking mine now, haha also with that routine, I feel like you might have a hard time preserving muscle mass, hence why i recommended high protein (1-1.5 grams/lb of bodyweight). Also throw some chins/pull ups in there. good luck

Getting some new subs
ok well i guess that seals the deal, unless i wanna be stupid. I really do love the mag too. I've just had the same set up for nearly 3 years and wanted to change it up. but I would be pretty pissed if it didn't sound as good, which according to y'alls, it wont. Thanks

Getting some new subs
I do realize that, that is why I was saying that the 2-12's will have a larger area. I figured that such a large increase of surface area would greatly contribute to more output, but I do not know nearly as much about car audio as others. What are some of the other factors that will apparently makes the 15 louder than 2-12's
