  1. Thanks! turned 41 on the 14th...starting to fell it a little.
  2. Nevermind...LOL he explained.
  3. I think you are on the right track- it really comes down to preference. I have a Crescendo 3500 I am going to run my Ethos 15's on. But Sundown, SoundQube, DD, CT sounds are all in the same ballpark IMO. I would also look to Db-r for a refurb'ed Sundown (this was my plan before deciding on Crescendo). I also agree on figuring out if you are running 1 big amp- or 2 smaller ones.

Not sure how I missed the radio install....but can't go wrong with Pioneer in my mind. Great deal for the VAG code tool. they are dang near a nessesity(sp) now a days.
  5. Happy Birthday!
  6. Happy belated birthday, gentlemen!
  7. Yeah- I am not crazy bout it...but it does look cool reacting to the air movement.
  8. sounds like an awesome build! Looking for to watching...
  9. Back when I first got into Csar Audio(around 1990) the PPI amps were highly desired. PPI combined with MB Quart highs was the setup to have in my area...sounded so sweet.

    welcome!
  11. Happy born on date sir.
  12. Does this mean we have until 3-15? or do we still have to pay them off by 1-15? Buying this Avalanche hurt my funds bad this month.
  13. RCA shielding/routing also has a lot to do with noise. Without shelling out quite a bit on RCAs, they're not going to block much if any noise. agreed- i am also running Knu Koncepts cheapest rca's. i run the power and signal as far apart as feasable...
  14. Just make sure you have good terminations, and solid ground points- and noise 'shouldn't' be an issue. I've had 5v JVC's and 2V head units as well(my currect is a Walmart $125.00 Pioneer unit that is noise free. I feel that with any brand name H/U you'll get satifactory results.
  15. Happy New Year to all here on SSA. Looking forward to 2014.
  16. Yep South Louisianna is something else. I can buy everclear at a convenience stare...in South AL you can hardly find it anywhere...Bacardi 151 is usually the strongest you can find.
  17. so the top is just a floating cover to protect the sub, correct? Looks nice!
  18. Unless you are an electrical engineer and also have the accompanying schematics, then pictures of any amp are meaningless. People on the internet like to ooh and ahh over pics, but 99.9% of the members commenting on or who are impressed with those pictures haven't a clue what they are looking at or should be looking for. They just see a lot of big parts or a high parts count and assume that makes it better. To make matters worse dozens of members post comments talking about how awesome these amps look in the pics when they have no idea what they are looking at, so novice members take those comments as fact.Amp guts pics are as useless to the average user as clamp tests. Another case of money-see monkey-do internet boners where a bunch of people talk and brag about something when they really have no clue. You are absolutely correct. I'll be the first to admit that I have NO CLUE what I am looking at...though I love amp gut pics. They are like indutrial art to me. I usually just say something like 'purdy', or 'SWEET'.lol And I have to say- the Taramps pics in this thread look really cool, though i have no idea if that makes them 'good'. I can only go by what you 'edumacated' guys say.
  19. So you have 1 Fi team 15, and 4 DSS 15's. sounds like a couple of very interesting projects coming up.
  20. sweet whip! Love that bady style...especially the M's.
